That was a terrible offensive possession. Down 3 so we dribble the ball until the clock hits 9 seconds then drive for a layup? Sigh...

This team will be lucky to go 8-8 in ACC play. This is inexcusable!

You have a 72-61 lead with less than four minutes to go and you just blow it.

I could live with the losses to 'Cuse, UK, and Texas, but not this.

This team has not improved one bit from the beginning of the season to now. Losing to 7-6 College of Charleston is just plain ridiculous. For the talent that this team has, there is no way in hell that they should be 11-4 right now.

I said it earlier, the talent is most definitely there. But they play like a low mid major; and that's giving them some of the benefit of the doubt. I don't remember the last time a Carolina team was THIS sloppy with the basketball; maybe the 8-20 team??

It seems to me they have no one on the team who is a vocal leader. Thompson and Davis appear to have a quiet (soft) demeanor. Teams usually take on the personality of their leaders and the team is just lacking a killer instinct or sense of urgency. Way too much talent to be in games like this one.

karen lotz is exactly right. No killer instinct, very passive, no aggression whatsoever.

Not having Ginyard and Graves hurt tonight, especially because of Ginyard's experience, but they should be able to beat Charleston with the second five.

I completely understand that. I've been saying that for a while now. However, it's beginning to be a little more than simply growing pains. C of C did play out of their minds tonight, but it's up to Carolina to match the intensity of the mid-major who wants to knock them off.

This team is inconsistent because of its youth, but there's no excuse for inconsistency of these proportions. 22-1 run by Cuse, 28-2 run by UK, 20-6 run by Texas, and 12-1 run in the last three minutes of tonight's game. Stuff like that shouldn't happen, no matter how young and inexperienced a team is.

The bigs are playing soft, there's no perimeter shooting to speak of, what was expected to be a good defensive team is just awful...especially at guarding the perimeter, and to top it all off, they can't make free throws either.

If they can't win on the road at Charleston, they damn sure won't win at places like Duke, Clemson, GT, Maryland, etc. I really hope I'm wrong and these guys finally start stepping up, but at the moment, this looks like a team that may be lucky to go .500 in conference play. If they do manage that, they'll be sitting at 19-12 at the end of the season, which is much worse than I had originally expected. I know things could change, and I certainly have to let things play out, but I really don't like what I'm seeing at all.

After seeing Charleston reign threes all night, I shudder to think what will happen against Duke. I'll probably be so pissed on February 10th that I won't be able to put together a coherent thought at all.

I think Roy needs to try something else. He has been practicing the crap outta them and chewing them out constantly. There was even a team meeting on Friday or Saturday to address all the mistakes and lack of execution, but that obviously had no effect. Something needs to be done to get the attention of this team, but I have no clue what that might be. You would think a loss to College of Charleston might do the trick, but I guess we'll see on Sunday when the Hokies visit the Dean Dome.

If there is one coach and one team I can trust to get it back together when their backs are against the wall, it's a Roy Williams led UNC team..

I had thoughts before the season that this team would be somewhat up and down. I figured there would be some glimpses of greatness (like against MSU and OSU), as well as some glimpses that we shouldn't even be on the floor (which I saw tonight)...

I can't be that mad at Roy, after all, he's gotten us to the promised land twice in four years.. I'm just going to take this year for what it is. A learning experience for the guys who will be back next year and a lump in the road in terms of what this team will be able to accomplish. Definitely NOT a championship caliber team this season, but hopefully we'll be good enough to get into the Sweet 16.

I was definitely mad after watching the game, but I've cooled off quite a bit since then. I get way too worked up about losses, especially like the one tonight, but what's done is done. I do trust Roy to eventually get this team headed in the right direction. I expected some bad losses, but also some great wins going into the season. That may be the case during ACC play. It's just frustrating seeing the potential that these guys have, yet they can't seem to put it together for a full forty minutes against anyone.

I'm sure that Roy is doing everything he can, and I'm sure that the team is playing hard. They're just not playing smart, and it's almost like they don't get what Roy is trying to teach them. The execution is pretty terrible most of the time and the mental lapses are just too prevalent. This stuff happens with young teams, but they now have 15 games under their belt. It's time for things to start clicking. ACC play is starting now, so I guess they have no choice but to perform well or suffer through a LONG conference schedule.

I did expect this team to be an ACC title contender, but now I don't think that's a realistic expectation. Hopefully they can finish with 10 or 11 ACC wins, maybe make a run in the ACC Tournament, and put together a decent run in the NCAAs. No matter what program you are, you can't win national titles every single year. Titles in 2005 and 2009 may have spoiled me, but I fully expect another one in the near future. Just won't be this season, which we all knew anyway.

When teams play true road games funny things can happen. This loss is just another teaching moment for Coach Williams.
