Pickerington has always been an area of Central Ohio that wants to believe it's Upper Arlington or Dublin when really it's pretty much just Lancaster or Newark. Now these poseurs are trying to be like Steubenville by allowing a convicted felon to play HS football. Be Proud Picktown you're showing us who we really knew you were anyway.

Pickerington has really gone down hill the last 15 years. The drug use in their schools and community is crazy. It really has been affected by being close to Lancaster.

The entire SE corner of Cbus is either white trash or thugs. Always drive with your doors locked around the Obetz area. Not surprised its now like that a few more miles down the road in Pickerington.

Aren't there cases where a DUI can be a felony?

I don't know what the kid did, but this is obviously bad for the PR.

Turns out it can be a felony, but it's only a felony if it's a case of repeat offenses within a set period of time ... at least in Ohio (like 3 times within 6 years).

As for the kid, I'm curious if there is a precedent as to what should be done. The school only has so much control, and I honestly have not heard of a case where this was handled well, so I have no idea what the school ought to do.

Pleaded guilty to attempted abduction. 2 counts. Was kicked off the football team. Locked up. Went/Continuing psych evaluations/counseling. Released. Put on house arrest. Had to go to a different school. Was not eligible to play sports. Satisfied the courts requirements and was permitted to return to school. Nothing prevents him from playing football.

The issue is that parents in the community are spreading things that isn't true. People are saying he wasn't punished. They're acting like it happened this year. They're also saying it's because he's a superstar on the field, he's not. They want there to be more punishment than what the courts gave him. That simply isn't allowed to happen.

The majority/all of the facts are sealed because he's a minor. People are speaking from hearsay which causes a stir and a spread of non-truths.
