Good luck! The fit test isn't easy.

Hello nos it aint! I did P90X legs & back this morning, but I had to start this.
Oh yeah, Tonya is hot as fuck!
Not sure if some of these moves (kicks, obliquie) count as one or two, so I count them as one.

switch kick 59
power jack 50
power knees 80
power jumps 40
globe jumps 9
suicide jumps 6 (cardio fail here)
pushup jacks 15
pharaoh obliquie 22

Not a bad start for an old man.

OK, WTF was that!? Insantiy Plyo Cardio attempted. Was able to make it to 11:00 (fast forwarded to 3:00 cool down stretch) left skipping two sets of mnt climbers before crashing out. That blows P90X plyo out of the water. But, I have a new challenge; to complete it and advance to the max plyo. I have never felt the need to get a heart rate monitor.

Just keep doing it. You will become better at it but it won't get easier. Plyo Cardio is a bitch but it's NOT as bad as Pure Cardio in the first 30 days. In Pure Cardio you DON'T get those 30 second interval breaks for water. It's just one move after the other for 1 minute straight.

Some of those moves (Mountain Climbers or any high knee movement) I have troubles with. Think my thighs are too heavy. LOL

As far as HRM's go, if interested, check out Ebay. I got a Polar FT7 (w/chest strap) which normally runs $109-129 for $66 with no S&H and I love it.

I've decided to order Insanity. I think I'm going to do the P90x/Insanity hybrid workout.

How much room do I need for Insanity?
What type of floor surface should I do it on? Our entire place is carpet with the exception of the kitchen and bathrooms.

How thick is the carpet? There are a couple of shuffling side-to-side moves where your feet could get caught up in carpet. You actually probably need less room for Insanity than for P90X Plyo.

Looking forward to the challenge. I have a feeling my triathalon training will be my rest day.
My heart rate and breath has finally slowed down 40 minutes later.

Yeah, Insanity will do that to ya. Like I said before, P90X is a walk in the park compared to Insanity.

One thing about Insanity, if you do a full round, is that you'll miss the weights that P90X offers. That's why I think a hybrid is the best way to go.

I switched up my Bas Rutten routine today and did the "All Around Fighting" tape then the "All Around Workout" tape. Killer. Usually I only do one of them.

For you guys just getting into Insanity, Insanity "Asylum" (second version of Insanity, not an add-on but a full blown program) is supposed to be released next month and P90X MC2 (P90X 2) is supposed to be released in the Fall. From what I gather from the previews I've seen of Asylum it looks like it might be pretty functional for sports training. P90X MC2 looks ridiculous with airborn pushups done between 4 balance balls.

Just watched the preview. Is Tony Horton a robot?

Looks like you need more equipment and much more room (referring to the pull-ps... geezus) for P90x MC2. Also it looks like tony horton is trying too hard to be cool/funny in MC2.

So I did this Crossfit circuit that I created last night along with Insanity Cardio Abs. That shit blew me up! I did a circuit of power cleans, heavy deadlifts, heavy dumbbell squats along with V-Bar dips. In between sets I did 1 minute intervals of "speed" Heismans, 1-2-3''s, Jumping Jacks & sprints in place. Burned 763 calories in 53 minutes. My next purchase will be a kettlebell handle insert for my Power Blocks. After that will be the Vibram Fivefingers.

This morning was a light/fun cardio day. I went for a mile "speed interval" walk at 4:30am wearing the weighted vest. Only burned 320+ calories but it was a well needed rest.

On a side note, are the kids today bigger pussies than I thought or are these school systems just perceiving them to be pussies? Our school system was on a 2 hour delay for "cold." This delay was implemented LAST NIGHT. When I was a kid we only got delays/cancellations for snow, ice or the boiler/furnace blowing out. None of this was the case this morning. My 43 year old ass walked a mile in that crap this morning THREE hours before their school would regularly start and I'm here typing this (i.e I didn't die).

No, kids today are insanely more pussified. I coached middle school wrestling this year and honestly I think much of the blame can be put on the parents for flat out coddling their kids all the time.

Yeah. I had never heard of delays before I moved down to Columbus. We either had school or we didnt.

Are the Insanity/P90x diets pretty similar? I'm just curious which one to follow when I do the hybrid.

My calves have not felt like this since high school football two a days. I did P90x Plyo Monday, Legs & Back Tuesday afternoon, Insanity Fit Test Tuesday night and 3/4 of Insanity Plyo yesterday. Planning on Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance today and Tri training (swim 1m, bike 16m, run 2m) tomorrow.

As for school delays, it has to do with liberal (in an economic sense) litigation rulings, parents not being parents and the school not wanting media showing little kids walking to school in below zero degree temps. I remember in college having class with negative 55 wind chill one day, it was unreal the way you could not breathe.

I'd use the P90X Nutrition.

Just sore afterward or cramping? When I first started Insanity my calves would lock up ALL of the time.

I'm pretty pumped & disappointed at the same time. I thought that Power Block had a kettlebell insert that would go into my current set. I was wrong....BUT, I ordered their 40 lb adjustable kettlebells AND the add-on which will take them up to 55 lbs. That should hold me over for awhile. I should get them in a week to 10 days. The insert for my old model would have saved me a bunch but they don't exist.

Sore, I hope they don't cramp up during the routine. I've had them cramp during biking when I try to push it above 22mph, so hopefully I can find the line and not cross it. If so, maybe I'll do some one leg Eric jump roping.
