Agreed. Shit I'd even take high school over working sometimes.

I loved combat, LZ, c 4, tunnels, nightlog sites, starlight scopes, ambushes , my .45 .. Loved college also wooster wine shop and Howard's ... High school two a days, crusine, 3.2 beer, street racing, hanging out at the drive inns, fist fights ... Live is all about what you make it... But I loved being a dad of three daughters most of all..

I remember that day well. My mom balled her eyes out.

College was great, but the "best years of my life?" No fucking way.

Same...that said, my daughter seemed less than enthusiastic about me starting Lambda Epsilon Omega in Gambier.

Yes we are and I'm loving it. With four kids it's a huge change from where we were 15 years ago, but it's really nice. Quiet but nice.

My years along the banks of the Olentangy were notable for sure and I still regularly hang with people I went to school with...but my best years are right here overlooking the 18th having a crab salad and talking about what travel spot am I headed to next.

Sorry but the first 4 months I was lost, no games, no booster meeting, no travel, no kids over for the week end or after games .... it just did feel right without the confusion, calamity, on going commotion….
It was bad to decrease cooking proportions .. From 5 to 4 to 3 and now just two
the transition to being an empty nester was difficult. Now the wife and I enjoy our time together and can’t wait to the grandkids and daughters to go home 
But invite them back in a week … visit my daughter in Chicago few day and come home to a relaxing time…

Ouch. This is the first year in 14 that we have no kids in college. Our youngest just graduated and joined the Army. Now we have no kids and money we don't know how to act. ;-)

you do know that at some point they do come back for a short time.... :)

in two years you'll be a grandpa if not already and a new but different stage begins with your kids and their kids...
Note: I have 5 grand kids and the cost goes up each year..... Hate cookie sales.... I give each grand kid $50.00 at the start of each year ...to give to the school not to sell me fund raiser stuff...
