Big homestand...4 with the ChiSox then 3 with the AL leading Royals. I'll pretty good about this team if we win 5 .

Minnesota falling apart of late has kept this from being a lost season. Time to take advantage and cut into that Wild Card lead while the opportunity is there.

Sources confirm that #BlueJays have spoken to #Indians about Carrasco, as first reported by @jeffpassan. Would take quite a haul to get him.

I read that earlier and I was extremely confused. I just dont see how it makes sense. Short of sending us Donaldson, there is no one on the Jays who makes that deal worth it for the Tribe.

I dont know their farm system, but to trade Carrasco, it would take a lot more than a few top prospects (because of his contract).

We had a chance to reset the rotation coming out of the all star break. Why make Bauer the #1 starter?

This. They may have spoken to the Indians about his availability but I can't see a deal. Of course, anyone is available for the right price, but I don't think david is on the BJ's roster.

92.3 had former Tribe front office guy, Dan O'Dowd, on yesterday. He said this time of the year he'd like to just see what teams would offer for players. Everyone was available for discussion. Didn't mean he'd do a deal but if a ridiculous offer were thrown at him, he may do it.

He also said he'd flat out release Bourn saying by keeping him, you are compounding one mistake with another, where you could be giving a younger guy a shot. He said "the eyes don't lie...after you watch a player for a while, he is what he is." I don't see the Tribe cutting bait with Bourn, but they should. The chances of him rebounding are almost no chance.

Maybe we could petition the league to play all 162 on the road next year.

another big crowd...another snoozer. Another non existant offensive showing with Kluber on the hill.

My white sox are looking good. Too bad they aren't consistent enough. Could have been buyers at deadline. Might end up selling Samardzija.

This offense is just sad. It has been for years, and nothing ever changes.

Shaponetti should have to answer for this. They ran the same freaking piss poor offense out there yet again expecting them to all magically learn to hit.

These guys have without question gotten the biggest free pass in the history of Cleveland sports.

The Dolan family is a freaking pox on the face of humanity and they have sucked the life out of this fan base.

I was listening to 92.3 on the way home today and despondent Tribe fans calling in about how big a nightmare this year has been and making it that much worse is knowing nothing changes next year.

Revenues and payroll are surging all around the league in the 29 other cities, but Tribe fans are stuck knowing that until Borne and Brohio come off contract the team won't do a damn thing except have the Dolans cry poor while pocketing bags of cash.

With the pitching the team has it could have been a legit World Series contender going on 3 years now with even average hitting. That no attempt to even try to remedy the situation has been made is borderline criminal.

The Browns and Tribe are 2 of the stingiest organizations financially in their respective leagues (owners put money in their pocket instead of product on the field) and build their teams ignoring offense entirely. Neither win shit.

Gilbert spends wildly and has built the team with an offense first focus, and they are winning.

Funny how that works.

It isn't that Dolan hasn't shelled out dough. Its who he shelled out dough for. Swisher, Bourn, Sizemore and Hafner, Nuff said. An 80 mil payroll a year team cant miss that badly.

I also pin some of the blame on Tito. This team gets away with lackluster mental sharpness because the manager never chews them out.

I can't disagree with any of that. I think it's time to add Santana to that list, a marginally productive player who has proven to be replaceable. It would be nice to see Jesus Aguilar start to hit so we can move Santana along.

I've agree with this for the most part, and I've said that for years. Travis Hafner, Jake Westbrook, and Kerry Wood made up over 50% of the payroll in 2010. Swisher, Bourn, Masterson, and Asdrubal combined for almost 60% last year.

Same thing with the mid-level deals. Guys like Moss, Brett Myers, Mark Reynolds, Chris Perez all between $6-8 million in the past few years, which aren't crippling deals by themselves but none of those have been money well spent. You go down the list the past 6-8 years and at least 80% of the guys who have made over $5 mil will make you cringe.

The Dolans are cheap, but the front office has been equally bad with allocating the money they have to spend on FAs.

What is...225, 222, 217, 234 and 232? Try the batting averages for the Indians 5 through 9. The cleanup hitter is hittimg 269.

It's time to scour the top prospects of the contenders and blow the whole thing up. Nothing wrong with going 50-112 the next 3 years to rebuild this train wreck. Nobody is untouchable including Brantley, Kluber and Kipnis.

Watching the performances of Santana, Gomes, Swisher, Bourn, Moss et al makes a compelling argument for compensating baseball players with performance based pay only.

Today Moss made an absolute horrible base running blunder. It's a daily occurrence and Francona deserves the blame. These people do not have their heads in the game...you see it every single ball game.
