If the Rockies pitcher wouldn't have fell down twice running from 3rd to home, denying his team the tying and lead runs, it wouldn't have ended up such a painful, drawn out affair!

They gave LeMahieu a single because of the pitcher....terrible terrible ruling. That's no different than a runner on 3rd and batter bunts forcing the 3rd baseman in hard but no play at 1st due to speedy runner but runner at 3rd holds cause he can't get home. Or Billy hits a gapper with Cueto on 1st and Cueto gets thrown out at home but Billy can't be awarded with a triple.

The pitcher should've had a jog in....but is without baseball instincts

Also in last night's game, on the safety squeeze that the runner on 3rd wasn't coming home, but the P flipped it home anyway since he didn't know the runner was not coming which assured that the batter would be safe at first, did any one see if Brandon Phillips had gotten over enough to cover first to make that out possible?

No he wasn't covering but he did bust it in to pick up ball to keep Arenado from having a second chance to score on that play.
