Do you or have friends that ever listen in regularly or periodically to podcasts? How popular do you view podcasting?
I've heard that the 35 and under crowd is more likely to listen to a podcast than the radio while in the car/commute time to/from work.

I do have one friend who does, but personally don't. If I'm in my car or in the office or at home or virtually anywhere and want to listen to something, well, that's what music is for. Far more fulfilling than listening to random people talk about random things.

Of the hundred or so people under 35 that I spend time with on a regular basis, I only know one person who listens to podcasts and it's all he talks about.

I've been listening to podcasts regularly since my first ipod purchase in 2007.

I recently starting listening to podcasts at work and I love it, makes the day fly by.
I use the Pocket Casts app...
-Bill Burr (This is the only one I listen to every episode without fail, Monday/Thursday)
These I just pick and choose interesting episodes...
-Joe Rogan
-WTF with Marc Maron
-By the way - Jeff Garlin
-Radio Lab
-This American Life
-Stuff You Should Know
-Doug Loves Movies
I wouldn't say they are just random people talking about random things....Well, Bill Burr's is that way but he so damn funny I crack up every episode.
The others are specific episodes often times, or certain guests....For example, Radiolab had a cool piece on the old "Montreal Screwjob" from back when wrestling was sweet, so I listened to that one, etc.

I listen to them most of the time when I am in the car, and sometimes when I work out as well. I'm under 35 and I know alot of people that listen to them regulary on daily commutes.
Rogan, BS report, Fighter and the Kid, WTF with Maron, MMA hour, Hardcore History, etc.

I mostly listen to nutrition, fitness, bodybuilding and science podcasts. However, a few that are outside of that, which are very good.
The Joe Rogan Experience
The Tim Ferriss Show
Hardcore History
Hardcore History, IMO, is maybe the best podcast out there today. If you like history and want an incredible presentation, download it.

Will be starting Serial soon.
Currently listen to:
-Bill Simmons
-Joe Rogan
-SI Media Podcast with Richard Deitsch (very interesting for a more behind the scenes look at TV)
-Dave and Chuck the Freak (for comedy relief)
-The Herd
That usually is more than enough for me in a week. I usually only listen to them while flying.

Season 2 has been boring as hell. The story is pretty well known already. The interviews and backstory is interesting, but not enough to save it. Coupled with the fact it's every two weeks instead of weekly...I've lost interest completely.

My wife listened to all of season 1. I was in and out. Really well done though. Tonight on way home from cavs game we started season 2. I'm hooked. My wife was in intelligence in Hawaii and so she has some insight and I guess more perspective into some of thing things they say in interviews, so that made it more interesting.

Plus it always leads into her going off about Snowden, who she actually knew from working alongside the unit he was a contractor with.
Gets her all fired up and she doesn't do that often.

I listen to Cashing in with TJ Miller pretty regularly (the episodes are not regularly released).
How Did This Get Made is always golden.
I have recently gotten into some others, but i'm on the fence so far.
