He's definitely holding on to some false leverage generated by bad advice. I get that players want to maximize their contracts as much as possible but TT needs to realize the $80M a year offer was already an offer likely well above his actual NBA value. He's probably worth, with the new salary structure, $12-13M a year since he's basically a top tier reserve big man. The Cavs offer of $16M a year is more than fair and if he truly wants $96M then I would let him sign his qualifying offer and let him walk. He's not getting that elsewhere and I doubt he even gets close to the $80M the Cavs offering.
