We were at the Hard Rock Rocksino as this went down. Talk about a gambler's euphoria. Place erupted from the horse enthusiasts, and others, when he won.Midstate01;1732868 wrote:I had chills as he crossed the finish line. That was awesome. First time in my lifetime. Very cool.

Watched the race in St. Louis at their jumbo-tron outside Busch Stadium. Cool experience. Pretty happy for the horse and all involved. Not that it really means anything, but I went to college near the farm Pharoah was stabled. Horse country.
Apparently, many people did the $2 bet on Pharoah. I imagine most will keep their tickets without cashing them. I imagine the collector's market will be flooded with them in several years.

I read the owner of the horse said something about AP racing again and they must be nuts. That horse is worth a fortune at this point, and given how easily horses can be injured racing I can't imagine why they would risk it. Any prize money won through racing is so far dwarfed by stud fees in the future it isn't even funny.

The horse is worth more as sperm than he is racing. Racing winnings are just icing on the cakeIggyPride00;1733315 wrote:I read the owner of the horse said something about AP racing again and they must be nuts. He's already sold the breeding rights and taken out an insurance policy to hedge his bets. If the AP wins another race or two plus the Breeders Cup Classic, it could be argued as one of the greatest horses ever.
Not even a handful of horses your average/casual observer could name, and half of those had movies made about them. AP achieved greatness winning the TC, now he's chasing being among the greatest of the greatest.

Lotta to-do about a better than average horse & trainer that would have gotten their asses waxed by the likes of Secreteriat, Alydar, Affirmed, Citation & so on & so on. But you young swinging dicks keep on believing the Golden Age of Sports started sometime around 1996.

LMAO, Secretariat and Man 'O War are unarguably head-and-shoulders above all other race horses, with Citation not far behind. But AP certainly has a chance to cement himself firmly in that next group. Time-wise, Secretariat is the only horse that would have beaten AP in the Belmont Saturday.Tiernan;1733352 wrote:Lotta to-do about a better than average horse & trainer that would have gotten their asses waxed by the likes of Secreteriat, Alydar, Affirmed, Citation & so on & so on. Let's see how AP does in the Breeders Cup before we pass judgement on where he stands.

I can't wait for the breeders cup. I'm more than likely heading down to keeneland for it. My buddy trains horses and he will more than likely have a horse running against AP.

Working Notre Dame is alright, in the sense I get Sundays off for NFL and December off completely (unless random events pop up).GOONx19;1733377 wrote:Keeneland in April is my favorite part about Lexington. End of October, not so much.
But, its annoying when your co-workers working SNF and CBS A-game get to go to those cities for 20 weeks lol. With actual nightlife etc.
The saving grace last year was Breeders was in Santa Anita (LA). So, getting to go from freezing as fuck South Bend to LA was awesome. This year, the change of pace...Lexington, KY lol.

Working ND games pretty much guarantees you won't have to work any of the NYD bowl games. Enjoy!

It was a good attempt at a slam. But pretty much a fail all around. Working the ND games has absolutely no bearing on the fact that NBC doesn't show any college bowl games. So it was guaranteed he wouldn't have to work any NYD bowl anyways.Tiernan;1733410 wrote:Working ND games pretty much guarantees you won't have to work any of the NYD bowl games. Enjoy!

This, and the fact our company doesn't do bowl games at all. System takes 3 days to set up and these trucks for the bowl games are just doing too many games during that time period. They use our rival company for the bowl games. Not as accurate, but takes only 1 day to set up.sherm03;1733415 wrote: It was a good attempt at a slam. But pretty much a fail all around. Uh...you dipshit nerds really don't have a clue as to how humor works do you? That ND slam was pure comedic gold. And anybody that hasn't dyed their dick blue & gold so the other Domer nut-huggers can slob on...are still chuckling.
