Here my problem with that, no cop where hit, no cops where injured and no cops fired back… so I would have to assume that the report that cops where shot at was the media rendition and no accurate reporting of this aspect of the event. My principal pulled the paddle out when I was in 1st grade. I got in a fight at the bus stop. Just by showing me the paddle, I never had another problem at the bus stop.
