That was discussed a couple of weeks ago and it came out that Brady's lawyer would be with the investigator going through the pertinent records on the phone and he would not have access to anything else.

MM had talked about him possibly having things on his phone, non football related, that he wouldnt want out there and they didnt blame him but then they were told about the parameters.

If there was anything at all that he was hiding, it would've surely been leaked. I mean you can't really count on any confidentiality anymore. Then again, getting text records could take him, but could also pretty easily be narrowed down to the time/game in question. Those records would have to be pulled and obtained by someone with his cell carrier and their corporate. If I was super famous I'd basically avoid anything publicly regarding any personal records.

Agreed.

Some think that he would have just turned the phone over to the investigators and they would have full reign over anything in the phone, but apparently what they would have been able to have access to would have been controlled by his lawyer so none of his nudies of his wife and belicheck woulda been leaked out......

It wasn't about Josh Gordon being a dumbass. I could use several other players as an example. I know you don't like Gordon.
It seems there's a bigger penalty for being a dumbass(Gordon) than a premeditated cheat.

A lot of it has to do with what organization is involved. Tomlin did more to cheat than the Saints, Patriots, Browns, or Falcons, yet he received the lightest penalty because the league chooses to go light on punishments involving Pittsburgh.

Why not he is the most recent example. As a NFL fan, what is more appalling to you? Somebody who smokes weed or somebody/franchise who cheats?

I'm irked by both, but I don't view them as similar situations at all.

Come on, you strike me as somebody that smokes pot. Irked in what way? Just the fact he was a dumbass? That's fair, but you actually think its legitimate the NFL has a policy against marijuana now?

The fact that he's fucked up over and over again after being many chances to redeem himself....going all the way back to college. This also includes the DUI.

Regarding the NFL and their stance against pot, they are a private entity and weed is still illegal nationwide. Until that changes, I highly doubt you will ever see the NFL alter their stance. Want to be a superstar and earn millions? Play by the rules.

I'm all for legalizing weed, but if your employer is against it so be it. My dad would smoke occasionally, but now he gets tested randomly. You know what he did? He stopped smoking.

Did I sound like classy right there? Lol

I get that, I am not arguing that Gordon is a dumbass. To pull my own classy story, once I started working for my employer that can test randomly, I stopped smoking as well. I am not really trying to defend Gordon here if it looks like it is. I am just making a point about the NFL's priorities.

The question i am trying to ask is what is more important to you? Lack of integrity/cheating or usage of a recreational drug. Gordon aside, do you really think guys should be getting 10+ games for smoking weed, while somebody who cheats gets 4 games or a wrist slap fine?

What's worse 3 speeding tickets or manslaughter?

Pro sports have to take integrity of the game issues seriously. Note MLB's action to increase security of game baseballs in the wake of the Pats scandal.

This.

Gordon is a dumbass but he smoked some weed and couldn't pass drug tests.

Brady and the patriots are known cheaters and got caught, again.

One is done for an entire season, the other is out for 4 games. It's the NFL so the former got the season suspension.

How many chances did Gordon get before getting suspended for an entire season? And when else has Brady been caught breaking the rules? I use caught loosely since there still isn't any proof. Shouldn't the receivers get suspended too for having an easier ball to grip? How about the running backs too, clearly it helped them hold on to the ball, except for Ridley of course. Maybe the entire team should have given up their phones for the NFL to probe their personal lives.

Again, the Vikings heated balls during a cold game and received a warning. Aaron Rodgers admitted he over inflates footballs, but take out some air and you've ruined the integrity of the game? gtfo. Eli manning preps his footballs for months, they're scuffed, softened, and give him a better grip, but that's ok since the precious air wasn't tampered with.

And your "point" is wrong. If Josh Gordon were a first time offender and got a full season for while Brady cheated (first time) and only got 4 games, I'd understand your whining but you are comparing apples to oranges. Gordon is a THREE time offender (if not more.) There's a reason they dropped the hammer on him.

I don't dislike Gordon. I dislike idiots with mega-talent who piss their career away when all they have to do is stay away from it. If Steve Everitt, who is my all-time favorite Browns player, were this friggin' stupid, I'd be railing on him too. It' NOT the player, it's the stupidity.

Reading comprehension is your friend. I said set Josh Gordon aside, but you have been so butt hurt about Gordon since he celebrated a heat title that you couldn't do that?

I asked What's more important to you, a player (try not to think of Gordon) smoking weed or a player/franchise cheating.
