Honestly, Baltimore is a shit hole. The only city worse is by far Detroit. I bet there are riots going on right now in Detroit and no one cares; that's how trash Detroit is.
Nah but Detroit is a good example of what riots can do to a city. After the '68 riots the city lost people in droves, I believe 75,000 people(mostly white) were leaving a year for the next 3-4 years after that and the city fell apart

Nah to what? Detroit is the only city in America where I was told by a cop "You can go that way, but I won't follow you and I won't come if you need help". Fuck that shit.

People would care if there were riots in Detroit. But yeah there's a reason the police pretty much put a wall around Downtown. I've heard similar things about Gary, IN as well though where cops won't help you

I never thought of that, but it's plausible (hello reasonable doubt). I could see a 3-striker trying to injure himself to leverage a brutality claim. I could also see this other perp trading that "intel" for reduced charges.

If no one goes to jail for this Monday night is going to look like a candlelight vigil in comparison.

I have seen it, and if you watch enough cops, you'll see people going nuts in the back of the cop car bashing their head against the windows etc.

I used to work in Detroit, and it's a known fact that they will not pull you over for speeding/running traffic lights and signs in certain parts of the city because it's unsafe. So, sleeper is pretty spot on.

I've been saying this all week. Tuesday evening, CNN asked one of the protest leaders what they'll do if Friday doesn't go their way, and he replied with "No Comment." If nothing happens Friday, it's going down big time; like LA back in the 90s.

I'm not sure how much forensic evidence will be able to validate or refute that story, because otherwise it's pretty clear reasonable doubt (as far as murder, might have a shot at manslaughter for failing to get prompt medical attention). I could see all hell breaking loose when no one goes to jail.

They're going to take another loser to the grand jury, possibly even trial, just to try to satiate the mob.

As much as I'd love for this to be the case, it's hard to imagine someone in handcuffs being able to do it to the point of severing their own spine. Head injuries and lacerations I could see, but a spinal injury?

Maybe forensics will shed some light...but it may be possible if you use momentum to throw yourself into the wall - think breaking your neck diving into a shallow pool. Less to do with force than the wrong angle of impact. If he's going nuts back there, he'd doesn't necessarily have much control over how he takes the impact.

Also possible if you're cuffed and you have a broken leg you might not be able to avoid taking the impact with your head/neck. You wouldn't have to be trying to hurt yourself nor would you need a "rough ride" to possibly suffer serious injury.

I would assume you never been in the back of police wagon, surrounded by metal seat and bars nor have you ever ridden in the back of a 3/4 ton truck box truck. Let spell this out ...man want to ram his head into the side wall, he decided to stand up to get better impack, truck traveling at 20 mph take a corner at 15 mph, at the time man heading to the side wall on the inside of the van. Man motion + van motion = increase in momentum = man lost of controlled impack = wtf = knocked out = falling backwards = van correct for turn = increase in backward motion = hit his fucking neck on the edge of the metal seat that was provided for him to stay seated ... I can see it being a possibility. And you are correct, I never been in the back of a police wagon. I've also never been shot by the cops as a result.
