With Urban Meyer, the best coach in College Football, being extended through the year 2020, how many more championships will he win? He's already got one, completely undisputed, and is undefeated in the College Football playoffs.

I think he will get 3 more in the next 5 years but it wouldn't shock me at all to see 4 more in the next 5 years.

It's going to be pretty difficult with Penn State and Michigan on the upswing and Michigan State already there. OSU isn't going to beat them all every year before even getting to play Wisconsin in the title. They might put together a hell of a run for the next few seasons however

Agreed except Michigan. Harbaugh is a junk coach who got lucky with Andrew Luck; a once in a century talent.

We'll see if Harbaugh can continue to coach. However, he also set the stages for Shaw's first few teams that went to 3 straight BCS games.

In the weak as shit Pac-10. The reality is, Harbaugh will not win a damn thing at Michigan. Did you see his recruiting class this year? Bad doesn't even begin to describe it. He's already a year behind in getting his players into his system and its not like he came into a team that has any talent worth a damn. Michigan has the same problem that Notre Dame has; unrealistic expectations placed upon overrated coaches who can't get it done. The fact that Kelly still has a job at ND is a fucking shock, but he's also a garbage coach and they will never win anything either.

At 3 in 5 yrs, thats some serious pwnage. USC/Texas/Florida of the past decade or so have taught me that even 1 is awesome. If we get another in the next 5 yrs that will be amazing.

I'll lose my mind if we get another in the next few years. We have a legit shot at repeating, it's surreal even thinking about it.

Feelings are the same here. It's been 3 months but it still doesn't feel completely real that they just won the championship with the 3rd string QB. Just going to enjoy this one because I didn't think it would take 12 years after the last one for them to win it again but it did. Urban is on another level though compared to Tressel.

Between now and 2020....I would say 1 more for certain, 50% of 2 more.

Great coach, great team, but very difficult task.

I thought it was chiseled into the side of a mountain we were going to win the next one after ours in 2012. Then Clarett happened......

I don't see him winning another one with this team. Sure a great QB and a decent back but they aren't going to have the D to win it

Please. They throttled Alabama and Oregon for the title. No slowing this machine down. I'd be disappointed with less than 3.

You neglected to somehow inject BG into your post, so I'm assuming someone else typed this.

I hate threads like this...to repeat as CFB NCs is maybe the toughest task in sports (pros typically have similar personnel year to year making repeats less difficult) but the parity in CFB creates constantly changing special challenges, and when a bunch of fanboys start spouting off about how many NCs in a row a team is gonna win it cheapens what the team has already achieved. Support the Bucks sure but shut the fuck up.

Is this not supporting the Buckeyes? Like it or not, Ohio State is a National Championship or bust team. Generating a discussion about our expectations over the next 5 years with our coach is normal and expected. If this was a ND thread, we'd be talking about how many irrelevant bowl games we expect to lose over the next 5 seasons.

Would "how close can Brian Kelly come to beating USC" be in that discussion as well?

No Sleeper it definitely is NOT "supporting" the Bucks it is simply creating expectations that while yes are attainable, are also extremely unlikely. I have no doubt the returning team will challenge for the Repeat due to a solid nucleus and excellent coaching (motivated by fans like myself last year who would not allow Meyer to simply be anointed Messiah because he won the B1G) he realized he had to step up and actually win games against teams that are legitimately competitive. He did that. Now they have a target on their backs and your stream of BS does nothing to alleviate that.

Load of BS. Ohio State will be the consensus #1 at the start of the season and will win the title again. If we do not win the title, then the season is a failure. Apologies for having high expectations from a team that just won the national championship, returns the vast majority of players from that team, and has blue chips recruits playing special teams. If you want mediocrity, ND and Michigan would love to gain some fans.
