That's probably exactly what it was. The white walker had a free shot from behind but instead just grabbed him and threw him.

Sansa and Littlefinger discussed the relationship between Lyanna and Rhaegar. Littlefinger told the story of when Rhaegar chose Lyanna over his wife at the Tourney of Harrenhal, suggesting that Rhaegar truly loved Lyanna.

Another hint is Melisandre tried to seduce Jon. She slept with Stannis, who is the rightful heir to the throne. She slept with Gendry, who is Robert's bastard. So, it makes sense that Jon would be the son of Rhaegar, who was the Mad King's son.

The one big reason I was afraid he was going to die was because during the fight it silent just as it did when Ned Stark was beheaded

It was the season, when they specifically covered Ned Starks sister, Lyana(sp), and Rhaegar Targarayn, and how he "kidnapped her", but it's debateable that it was kidnap and that she didn't run away with him because of him declaring she was the most beautiful in the realm.. And then they had Stannis also talking to someone saying Ned was too good of a man to have cheated to his wife, they covered Lyanna making ned promise her something, but never say what it was. Also, Melisandre told Jon, that there was something powerful inside him.

And then last week, she talked with Stannis, about him not being able to bring Jon Snow along, hinting that he has has "king blood" much like Gendry from earlier in the series.

How many episodes left this season? 3?

I just wonder if the White Walkers will continue to be the slowest burn in television history, or if they've finally become a major part of the story. I think in two episodes they COULD get to Castle Black, which would set-up a serious fireworks for the premier next season. I think the season ends with three horn blasts - would be awesome.

Don't think much will happen with Dany the final two weeks. The only major conflict I can see in the last two shows is Stannis' attack on Winterfell, and Ramses going ninja in a first strike. Figure one of those two are going to die, and if it's Stannis that would be just crazy.

Episode 9s are the best. I can't wait for Sunday.

The pace is starting to bug me because of story lines that have grown stale and appear to be going nowhere (Arya, Sansa, Sasquatch and I really don't care about the Faith or whatever their called). All I really want to see, at this point, is Jon Snow and Dany, and Ramse getting killed.

Starting to understand the complaints about the last two books, and glad I never invested the time to read everything.

They are growing stale because there are so many of them. Besides the abomination that is Dorne, I feel that every single story is interesting in its own sense. They just don't have the time or resources to expand on every one.

I agree with this.

That was a brutal scene, didn't expect Stannis to sacrifice his daughter just to be king.

Also - FINALLY some dragon brutality.

I get pretty frustrated when they focus on Dorne and Arya since I think they're 2 of the weakest story lines, but the second half of the episode was amazing.

Yeah that was awful but my husband slipped earlier in the episode and said she was going to be sacrificed. Still hard to watch. I agree with the dragons finally getting used.

Well, that was definitely the most fucked up scene of the show. Knew it was coming the second Melisandre put the idea in his head but still hoped it wouldn't come to that.

I know making this show costs a lot of money, but multiple storylines is why this show needs:

1) Longer episodes, especially next week's season finale.
2) Longer seasons

I'd love to get fuller glimpses of what's happening in a lot of places.

a) Sansa and phag Ramsay - What the shit is going on there?
b) Castle Black - Shit is about to get real interesting. Sam got beaten while Jon was gone, and many not happy with Jon... WTF is going on there?
c) To me, Dorne is finally getting somewhat interesting.
d1) Dany finally gonna wreck shop
d2) Tyrion there, Jorah back (he sucks at battling) ... intradasting
e) I'm actually interested in the Sparrow shit, and Cersei, Tommen (ghey), Margery, Loras.
f) Really interested in what Littlefinger's long-game is all about, and how each intricacy plays out.

We got a great glimpse of the wights, white walkers/others in episode 8. I think we're good without them for awhile. We got to see the damage they can do, and we got some great glimpses of what is needed to defeat them. The army is building south of the wall, and I feel the focus needs to be on that.
