Three good points here....

1) why does it matter to anyone whether Justin shuts the site down?....it's his perogative.
2) if you know someone refer them...and invite old posters back.
3) we all like to argue, just quit getting so personal that people no longer want to post here.

No disrespect at all... I commend you for your efforts since the fall of what once was the great JJHuddle era. Those were great times. Most of us met each other there. Then they went all gays, and you created <freehuddle.com> and a certified letter later, <ohiochatter.com>, and we all had a funs. The last few years (what is it, like 5?) have been great. But as I frequent this site, I see very little activity. I think it's dying. I think it's time to shut 'er down. What you think?
This is how you spent your Saturday night? LOL

That said, it's Justin's site to do with what he chooses. If he's content with the return he's getting, it's well deserved.
I guess running a forum like this isn't easy given the circumstances under which it started.

That's what I was thinking. It's one thing to leave a site because it no longer suits your desires. It's a slightly different thing to do so, but announce to the world you are leaving the site (a bit self-serving in the "maybe everyone will beg me to stay because I's so cool" way, but it's also kind of cool in the "at least we know they just got tired of the place instead of, say, dying of a heart attack" way).

It just brings the lulz, though, to have a "you know, this site doesn't seem to be as fun for me right now...so just shut it down!!!!" line of thinking. Sounds more like a "I'm tired of this place, but can't leave because I know I'll come back...but if Justin shuts it down, guess I won't have that problem, will I?" kind of thought than anything logical.

If you read literally any words of any posts, you'd know it's more of a "shut er down" topic.

Serious question.

You make money on this forum?

Even decent forums with 200ish members on at any given time and 10,000 random search hits a day barely comes out in the black after server expenses, etc every month.

Hope this helps...

I find it hard to believe the forum would be open if it didn't make a profit with the amount of fucks Justin gives about the forum.

Just curious.

You don't tend to make money on a forum alone.

Hope this helps...

If he wants to make more money, all he need do is start charging to post.

I would think that $1 per month per user would be about right.
