Dog owners ever spring bring this one day of dog shit clean up. The perfect day where the shit is still somewhat frozen but not sticking to the ground, capable of rolling into the pooper scooper. Yesterday was that perfect day for dog crap clean up.
This winter with the heavy snow coverage now unveils the amount of shit dogs can produce.
In the summer my dogs go to the kennel which makes clean up quick and easy. In the winter our old Golden has a hard time getting to the kennel and the one year old Goldendoddle doesn't get the idea that where he should go.
Two large dogs...... Five plastic yard bags doubled ( prevention of bag breakage) will hold about 50 pound of crap each. I took it all down to my warehouse dumpster.
What type of dog or dogs do you have and what is your best estimated in poundage of crap did you clean up? What did you do with the shit?

Well, If you're like Belly and I , and have a big dog(s)...you go thru this every year. It is not one of the more pleasant chores in the spring.
This winter was particularly hard with the animals not being able to 'go' far from the house. Usually, whenever he can, my golden goes out into the woods, but with the deep and persistant snow cover, it was all arounbd the house...on the deck...on the patio,.... in the flower beds. It was just a real mess. I actually got the chore done as soon as the snow melted, as you couldn't walk anywhere around the house without having to dodge.

Snow was so deep that my dogs gave up going into the yard and just did it in the driveway. Easier to clean up. Just like the snow.

Started this weekend, then ran out of daylight. Was going to finish yesterday, then Old Bastard Winter had other plans. My dogs are outside all day in a large fenced in back yard, so they shit more than other dogs. Fill up an entire wheelbarrow. Fucking sucks.

You guys can't take your dogs out for a walk? Seems like that would solve this issue.

Picking up dog poop vs changing baby shit diapers (breast milk feed babies the worst)Automatik;1716029 wrote:Adding this to the list of things I hope to never do in my lifetime.
I’ll take dog poop for 500.

Nah, just let them run around all winter and let 4 months of shit accumulate in the yard.

Yeah... I'm going to get all bundled up to take my dog for a walk in -30 windchills, and mush thru 18 " of snow for 200 ft and back just so he can dump in the woods. LOL.
I think I'll just let him out the door and take care of it in the spring. It's not that it's that hard a job that any man can't handle, it just amazing how much shit that a dog makes over the course of the winter

What do you think people do in the city? Let their dogs shit in their apartments? LOLHitsRus;1716037 wrote:Yeah... I'm going to get all bundled up to take my dog for a walk in -30 windchills, and mush thru 18 " of snow for 200 ft and back just so he can dump in the woods. LOL.

You don't have to walk that far in order to get your dog to shit.

A major perk of having a fenced in yard is that I don't have to take my dog for walks in the winter. I have to pick up his poop whether it's in my own yard or somewhere during the walk, so I will stay warm and cozy inside in the winter thank you very much.

We have 4 dogs (3 of our own and we generally have a foster) and a small yard. We got a little bit behind this winter and had a ton of crap to pick up once the snow melted. They are small dogs so at least they don't have giant shits.

I don't have to "walk my dog " that's the point.... And I could care less what people in the city have to do. If I lived in the city I wouldn't even have a rat dog let alone a golden retriever.like_that;1716042 wrote:What do you think people do in the city? Let their dogs shit in their apartments? LOL

Having a smaller area is beneficial, for sure.justincredible;1716061 wrote:We have 4 dogs (3 of our own and we generally have a foster) and a small yard. This is just the back portion of our yard. Still another 5,000 sq. ft. (approx) on the other end of the camera behind me. LOTS of room for LOTS of shit.
