The old lady and I want to go to the casino, but not sure of which to choose. Toledo, Columbus, or Cleveland?? Any help would be appreciated.

Columbus

Vegas.

My friends and I are trying to hit all 4 major Ohio casinos in 24 hours, lol. The time would start in Columbus, then we'd drive to Cinci, Toledo and we would end in Cleveland.

Wheeling Island.

I live about 15 min away from the one in Toledo. Very nice place with some good food.

Also, The Final Cut steakhouse in the one in Toledo is the highest rated in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan if that interests you.

The only time I go to the casino is Cincy is when I go to Bobby's Burger Palace for lunch.

Depends on how you play. If you play high dollar machines, your best bet is the Hard Rock Rocksino in Cleveland. They have given up more $50k+ jackpots than any casino in the areas we've hit. If you're playing lower denom's (pennies, .25, $1) Mountaineer, Presque Isle & Hard Rock are all solid.

As an example, we've hit the Horseshoe (Cleveland), Thistledown (Cleveland), Hard Rock (Cleveland), Hollywood (Youngstown), Presque Isle (Erie), Seneca (Salamanca, NY), Meadows (Pittsburgh area), Rivers (Pittsburgh area), Mountaineer (WV) and Wheeling Island (WV).

If I were to rank them, we've had our most success at Mountaineer (WV). Hard Rock, Presque Isle & the Meadows are also good. The worst are Wheeling Island (especially if you're a non-smoker), Thistledown and Hollywood (Youngstown). Unfortunately, Hollywood is 15 minutes from my house and it sucks so we make the drive to WV.

We haven't hit the Columbus/Cincy casino's yet but have heard Hollywood (C-Bus) is solid while Scioto Downs blows. Have heard some positives about the Horseshoe in Cincy and very good things about Belterra which isn't far from Cincy in Indiana.

I like Scioto Downs for the mix of slots and racing. They just broke ground on a 9 million dollar expansion, including a microbrewery. The place is always packed. I know a lot of people that will take Scioto Downs over the Columbus Hollywood anytime.

I can't speak from experience, never having been to Scioto, but I've heard it blows.

Guess it depends on what you're going for. We play slots and have seen where their jackpots are pretty small. Mountaineer is our favorite but even they have gotten stingy since El Dorado bought them and their sister casinos (Scioto & Presque Isle).

Total sarcasm regarding Wheeling Island. The place sucks.

I find casinos in general rather lame. I have a hell of a lot better things to do than sit on my ass and shell out money to pull a lever. I do enjoy some blackjack here and there and I've had some good times at Mountaineer and the Meadows.

Plus Scioto Downs is where Art Schichter perfected his gambling prowess while in college.

Scoots Downs is actually pretty good but it doesn't have any table games. I've only played slots there twice and finished up both times. The first time I used their $25 free play for getting a players card and ended up over $1000 + when I hit 7 out of 7 on a keno machine.

The Columbus casino is pretty fun table limits are usually 10 Min for craps $15 min for blackjack and roulette. The poker room is usually 90% full which is nice because the table are almost full but no wait to sit down.

I would rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than play a slot machine. Simply the most boring activity I have ever tried.

If you are going to a casino, play something where it takes a modicum of thought and reasoning to gamble.

I'll never understand the appeal.

Yeah I've never really understood how people could love to play slots either but to each their own.

I've been to the Toledo casino twice and Cleveland once. Both were very nice but I'd probably recommend the Toledo one.

Someone will have to explain the logic behind slot tournaments for me though. Yes, they do exist.

I like the Toledo one the best, but havent been to the Cincy one.

It has the best food of the 3, and, you can gamble for cheapest (but still find the higher level tables if you want).
