Tough loss for the SMITHIES!! Nothing to be ashamed of, it was a hard fought game and the "luck" was with the Redskins. Smithville had an undefeated JV, so things look bright for next season!! I will be cheering for the Chipps this coming week!!

I'll tell you this, we HAD a good core of WC fans from all schools, posting here, that supported Norwayne on their run. Tailgating and all! Hell the Hillsdale guy even brought his bell. (63 lbs and heavy as hell. lol) BUT certain poster(s) ran everyone off. (we converse elsewhere now).UrADork;1763665 wrote:The Region 16 finals are in Brunswick, OH on Friday at 7:30pm. I will also say after Sectionals, as long as kids arent wrestling Bears, we cheer on the locals! When Dennis Raber (Orrville) won his State wrestling title, the Sea of Gold was loud and proud for that young man!
Good luck Chipps!

I'll try to be at the game, but whether or not I am, I'm pulling for the Chipps. Rooting for the team representing the WCAL!

Little surprised to see Doty will not be renewed at Dalton for next year. It's not like they pulled the plug quickly with five years and only one winning season. In his defense, they did not have a ton of football talent the last few years, although they have been very good in other sports - basketball, baseball, etc so maybe the athletes were there, just not utilized. Thoughts on replacement options?

Edison wins 70-37!
I will say that 90 yd TD run, looked to me like the RB was down. his shoulder was on the turf. Maybe that's something that someone could clarify. Shoulder was definatly ON the turf. That along with the ensuing fumble was a huge blow and momentum swing.

Edison was the better team last night, but that play was a HUGE momentum shift. 90 yard TD run, then Chipps fumble the ensuing kick-off and they score again.1_beast;1764843 wrote:Edison wins 70-37!

As for that play, it is a shame because there is indisputable video and photo evidence that the running backs head, shoulder, arm and elbow are on the ground. Refs flat out blew it.
Oh, well. Good luck to the Chargers, they are a tough team. Also, congrats to the Chipps on their best season in school history! Playing in week 13 is a great accomplishment!
