I like the line from the linked article about the Army Corps report. "The decision to drain the lake COULD prevent boating." I guess there will still be a chance for some boating to be had on the mud bottom that will be left after the water is gone.

I wonder which would be cheaper - replacing the dam or buying out those that would be affected and let it fail.
