Jackson about 6,500 people....1 hr 15 min from Columbus and 1 hr 35 from Cincy.
I don't like big city traffic but could live on the outskirts 10-20 miles away.

When we lived in Lawrence Kansas it felt perfect. It was a mix between Columbus and Athens OH. I think it was over 100k when school was in session.

What some people don't seem to be factoring in is that generally by living in a big city, you don't really deal with the traffic. You generally live close to where you work and can take public transportation, or drive city streets to where you need to go. Lots of truth to that. and then you have to find a place to park and pay for it. HATE paying for parking.

Mixed feelings. I enjoy going back home, but after about a weekend I'm ready to get back to NEO. Grew up in a town of 400. 2 hrs from Pitt and Columbus. Don't want to live in the city my whole life, but def want to stay within reasonable distance like others have said.

I need a city. I can do a suburb, but there has to be a city of 250k+ (preferably over 300k) near by. Suburb I would like to be 20k+.

Big city traffic is just that....nothing in the small town is similar.

I grew up in one, so I have never hated them the way some do. I appreciate the fact that there is everything you need without having to drive 40 minutes. Schools have great facilities and while it's terrible we have the largest ponderosa in the United States lol
Also have Michael's Ice Cream which has been around since 1909 and was the first job of longest running Governor in Ohio History (James A Rhodes)....they are famous for their roasted peanuts from their original peanut roaster from the early 1900's and of course the "Bubble"
The Jackson Co fair is maybe the worst thing in Jackson County.
