I'm in Baltimore for work this week and outside of the harbor, this place is a shit hole. People always rag on Cleveland, but I'd take Cleveland anyday over Baltimore.
I went to DC yesterday to kill time since Baltimore sucks and I'd take DC over most cities. New York is awesome. Chicago is awesome. DC is awesome. What other cities are great?

San Diego, Austin, Miami and Seattle are up there as some of the best cities IMO.

Boston and Philadelphia aren't bad cities either. Philly at least has history there.

Cities I really like include: Washington, San Francisco, Chicago, Savannah, Charleston, Sarasota (FL), San Diego.

You're right about Baltimore - a rough joint. I'm not a big NYC fan either. It's interesting, but dirty and the people are d-bags (in general).

So I guess I'm going to need advice on where to stay in August as we are staying 2 nights in Baltimore and going to the 3 game series at Camden Yards vs Tigers.

Always heard Pittsburgh was the ultimate shit hole but our time there last summer was good (didn't travel the city)....the stadium/ballpark area was very cleaned up and nice.

Tell me about it...

My wife is from Baltimore, and I can't stand it. We currently live in Chicago which is 10x better. If it weren't so damn expensive to live in the city I'd stay forever.

I love Cleveland and Columbus. As far as actually traveling, Chicago is my favorite so far. I've also spent time in PHX, Tucson, Louisville, Annapolis, DC, Tampa, Ocean City, MD and Toronto. Had no complaints with any of them. I'm definitely looking forward to Boston this summer. We're also hoping to make it to Pittsburgh this year as well.

NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC, LA and Seattle are also pretty high up on our baseball trip list. Oh, and Mantooth and I are going to Indy sometime soon.

Find out next Friday whether I'm moving to Nashville, Gainesville, Houston, Winston-Salem, Charleston, or Indy for my residency. Or none of them if nobody wants me.

I second Austin and Nashville. I'd also throw in Charelston, SC.

Hey Zwick...head down to my old stomping grounds in Annapolis. Very different than Bmore or D.C.

In the smaller than most mentioned so far category, Asheville, NC has more going on than many cities multiple times its size.

I wouldn't consider Pittsburgh a shithole, but still, fuck that city.

Lol can't believe I didn't even think of Nashville (Only live 2 hours from there and go there at least once a month) and Charleston loved that place.

Goon Hopefully you don't get Gainesville pretty much the only terrible city out of that bunch although I don't know much about Winston-Salem.

Winston-Salem ain't great, but not terrible either. Just not much to do.

I currently live in Charleston, SC and love the town. Liked Chicago (would never live tho). Enjoyed Dallas too.

Hated DC and don't like New York.

Can't say I have ever been to Baltimore, but NYC is a zoo. Okay place to visit for a weekend, but I wouldn't want to live/work there. Same thing with Miami.

Chicago is my favorite big city. Scottsdale /Phoenix are nice cities, but I'd get tired of the flat, brown, desert really fast.

My favorite cities to visit are Nashville, Vegas, Chicago, and Wilmington. Wilmington is a beautiful city right on the beach and isn't full of tourists. I also loved living in Lawrence, Kansas. It's a younger city and was really fun to live there in my 20's but probably wouldn't spend my whole life there. I however would never want to visit KC or live there. The place has a couple nice suburbs and a couple ok malls but the rest is a shithole. Only good thing there is the BBQ

also the boundary waters in Minnesota is the best camping/fishing trip ever

I would also add Crested Butte, CO number 1 ski town in America and awesome in the winter. The snowmobiling there is probably my favorite part

My favorite program is Vandy. My fiancée and I could match together at Florida, though, so we ranked that first. If we don't match there she'll have to find a job somewhere wherever I match after we move. I loved Charleston but MUSC's program would have a pretty poor work/life balance, so that's a little farther down the list. Houston was third.
