I hadn't been to DC in awhile but I could definitely live here. It's got a lot of cool areas. I doubt theres a ton of work for electrical engineers though. Seems like everyones a lawyer in this town.

BTW Columbus is underrated. The food and bar scene is really good if your a foodie. The cost of living is low.

Columbus is ok. I hate that you have to drive everywhere there. And traffic is terrible so driving sucks.

I've also spent time in PHX, Tucson, Louisville, Annapolis, DC, Tampa, Ocean City, MD and Toronto. Had no complaints with any of them. I'm definitely looking forward to Boston this summer. We're also hoping to make it to Pittsburgh this year as well.

NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC, LA and Seattle are also pretty high up on our baseball trip list. Oh, and Mantooth and I are going to Indy sometime soon.
If I we don't have a few beers we're no longer (facebook/instagram) friends.

Not true at all. A lot of government contractors are out there.

Not buddies or anything but I used to post a ton of dawgtalkers (which spawned from Browns official boards) where he posted as well. Met him at Training Camp as I lived in Berea and went several times a week back in the day and he was there. Total douche, IRL and on dawgtalkers. Everyone hated him (like Iqqy) and he eventually got banned for life for being an asshat.

I used to shudder when I'd see him at TC bc I knew he'd be coming over to me to tell me why the browns should trade for Peyton Manning. Just one big pompous prick.

You are going to be our go-to for advice and tips. Literally the only thing on our agenda is eating at St. Elmo, lol.

Defense contractors are huge here. You could easily find work as an engineer.

Yeah when I looked there were a lot of contract jobs. I'd hate to move somewhere for a contract position. If I was single it'd be one thing. But there doesn't seem to be too many companies hiring engineers for full time positions.

That's fair. I know a lot of people who just jump from contract job to another. They make a lot of money doing it too. Obviously, you have to be good at what you do, otherwise it would not be a stable approach, especially with a family.

You clearly just don't have a clue on how contracting works. If you are a competent engineer, you will have unlimited job opportunities here; especially more so than bum fuck Ohio.

There are plenty of opportunities for engineers in Ohio, especially Northeast Ohio.

Of all the places I've visited the Top 5 cities (of significant size) for me are:

San Diego
Chicago
San Francisco
Nashville
El Paso

Bottom 5:

NYC Chock full of pompous asses and DIRTY beyond imagination. Just a massive clusterfuck.
Baltimore
LA
Philadelphia
Las Vegas

Tops in Ohio:

Cincinnati
Columbus

In Detroit for a few days this week for work.... Easily the worst city in America. The old Packard plant looks like a war zone.

I've never been to NYC but I can't imagine a major city being dirtier than San Francisco.

Never been to SF, but I've always heard good things and never anything about it being overly dirty. It's usually just complaints about the insane cost of living.

Truth is, you're gonna have your shitty areas in all major cities. NYC is grimy as hell in some areas, but in some cases, like Brooklyn....I find it appealing.

Downtown area & the mission part of SF are fucking filthy and reek of urine. Having been to NYC, and lived in a few cities/working in SF, I can confirm SF is the dirtiest I've been too.
