But seriously watching Allen Tigner run the point for PC has been a thing of beauty. It's been fun to watch him dribble away 1 or 2 min's at a time just making defender's look like fool's and then dish off a no look pass to a wide open shooter as he penetrates. If your a b-ball fan and you've got a spare night go check out Port Clinton. It's worth the gas and the money to see some decent basketball.

Oh and 13........ come on you know you want to comment! It'll be like old time's! We can get hoobie to show up, gcg and the rest of the gang and have a good ole fashioned free for all!

The bait is on the hook but nobody is biting! lol.

It's an interesting proposition to see the Port Genoa RedComets light up Division two, and worth the conversation since this thread is kind of slow as it is. They would have no problem running through the SBC or SLL or wherever they would be, that's for sure. They would be be a very tall team :

Wonnell- 6'9"
Hicks- 6'6"
Francis- 6'4"
Tigner- 6'2"
Colston- 6'3"
So, who would coach this super team? Diels or Overmeyer? lol

Tink- I think i got a couple gray hairs from the old times. No thanks lol.

BW- With that lineup, I really dont think it would matter much lol. That would be the two most athletic teams in both conferences combined into a force that would put up Texas high school basketball like scores. I can dream but my goodness how good coulda/woulda/shoulda the comets have been including this year and the past 10 with ONE offensive play. The athletes that have came through there in those years is simply crazy for just 1 title. Also I am sorry for any SLL fan that gets upset but Genoa has the most athletic team, best athletes, and most basketball players (Eastwood would compete)...Unfortunately their missing the most important key right now! If you think I am wrong PLEASE try proving that wrong. You have the one of the top PG, C, and PF on the same team. My hat goes off to Otsego so far for what they have accomplished!

Diels would be the coach! lol Dear god their is just too much talent on that proposed team to let overmeyer piss it away. Troy Diels may not be Dean Smith but he's light years ahead of overmeyer lol.

Elmwood's basketball players take no back seat to any team in the SLL, athletically speaking. If they had a 6-8 post, they would be leading the SLL, or right at the top fighting for the crowm. IMO there is no doubt about that. They lack size, but not athletes or basketball players. Eastwood has 3 good players on their team and maybe one or two of them are athletic. They don't even compare. That was very evident in the first meeting when Elmwood exposed them. They probably have the most athletic player in the league in Shorty Tyson.

I think I'm gonna merge the threads on here and JJ Huddle so I'll just copy and paste what some huddlers are saying over there since I still have my account. Both threads are kinda stale right now

Lol could you imagine if Tink was a Genoa fan. I think all of the huddle would hate us even more with me and him talking about Genoa. It'd be the most feared 1-2 combo around

I believe that Tink is a closet Genoa fan, he probably got a little juicy typing his previous post.

Matt Bassitt has started to become the player he needed to be to make this team as successful as they can be!! He is making unbelievable decisions for the Comets and has been leading the team in the last three games! ZERO selfish shots in those games and always making the extra pass. He gets the ball, runs the floor, and draws the defenders to get EVERYONE easy shots!!! Richard and Jon are both exploding because of it! I hope they continue to do play like a team against good teams later on and we will hopefully see how good the comets can be!!! Much improved over the last few games!

Yup this is pretty accurate and I've been saying for the last year and a half that this is what the Comets needed to do in order to be very good

Bassitt lead with 21, Wonnell had 14 and Lester had 11.

Anyone have the Eastwood/Otsego score?

Elmwood over Gibsonburg 79 64

Tied at 41 at the half. Gibsonburg was 7-14 from 3 in the 1st half, and that kept them in it. 2-8 in the 2nd half. Jay Hannah led the Royals with a game high 24. shorty Tyson had 18, Jack Waldock 12, and TJ Waldock 8. Lee Rener with 22, Gabe Beaber 15, and Jeremy Helmke with 12 for Gburg.

Call me arrogant call me whatever... how didnt you see this coming? I know its Otsego. They are number 1 in the league but come on now. Everyone knows Otsego is not the best team in the league. Otsego is happening because of good coaching and 1 good player. They play like a "team" and know how to play the game well. I am not at all trying to tear what otsego has done so far down....I really am not...but basically everyone knows that 2 or 3 teams have better basketball players but not better basketball coaches! Otsego is the product of a good basketball coach! Alot will change in the second half of the SLL! Best of luck to EVERY team in the last stretches of the league. It is early but every team has a chance still and that makes it exciting. Best of luck to every team!

I didn't see it coming because Eastwood hasn't been playing well lately and as you said, Otsego is well coached. Plus, they have been playing at a high level. But, I do agree with you in that they probably aren't the most talented team in the league and have been the biggest surprise in the first half of the SLL.

League standings thru 6 games

Eastwood 5-1
Otsego 5-1
Elmwood 4-2
Genoa 4-2
Gibsonburg 2-4
Lake 1-5
Woodmore 0-6

When I saw Lake earlier this year I got the distinct impression that this was a team that was playing under their talent level. No way a team with that much size and what appeared to be halfway decent guard play should be playing as poorly as they do.

Lake seems to be playing better. Losing by 4 to Eastwood and 6 to Genoa, they were in both games.

Well if the Comets want any chance at winning league they must beat Eastwood on Thursday nite. This team is playing great basketball right now and Bassitt is really developing into a true PG and Wonnell and Lester and playing well as well as Clark. The key is will Clark or another guard step up and help Bassitt because it helps greatly when Matt actually has a backcourt around him instead of him having to do everything. This game will come down to a few things, which teams backcourt shows up and most importantly can both big men stay out of foul trouble. Neither team can afford to lose Rolf or Wonnell in a game like this. I cannot wait for Thursday
