I like the idea of trading down for a RT, but Mays is overrated. There are plenty of better options than Mays

I know I wrote Berry should be the #1 priority but I didn't realize he would go so high. Haden would be a good pick as well as McClain. How about Chad Jones from LSU or even Kurt Coleman as a 2/3 round pick?

To whomever said Gruden isn't available this year, I hope you aren't basing that on the fact that he signed an extension with ESPN...money talks.

Cribbs will get signed soon

Brandon Graham Michigan or Greg Hardy Mississippi in the 2nd round. One of them should be available and excellent selections IMO. Sean Weatherspoon could be available also depending on the combine.

Taylor Mays is quite possibly the most overrated player in this entire draft.

Cleveland won't trade down as there will be cornerstone defensive guys readily available at either the LB or CB spot.

Yep. At 7 (assuming Berry is gone, which is likely) the Browns may well have their choice of Haden or McClain. Either would have an immediate impact and fill a need.

How are the Browns getting the 7th pick over Oakland when they are both 5-11 and the Browns won head to head? Is head to head not the first tiebreaker? Nevermind Easier SOS is the first tiebreaker.

actually running the wco with quinn at the helm could be a bad choice. quinn is far to innaccurate
I beg to differ. The WCO features quick, short passes which is Quinn's forte. This attack also demands a mobile quarterback such as Quinn. Im my opinion Quinn would thrive in this type of offense.

Browns opponents next year, just to throw that in:

AFC East (Patriots, Jets, @ Dolphins, @ Bills)
NFC South (Falcons, Panthers, @ Saints, @ Buccaneers)
AFC South last place (Jacksonville)
AFC West last place (@ Kansas City)

Plus obviously the division games. Not a schedule that looks especially grueling on paper. A lot of good, but not great teams (this year at least, obviously a year can change a lot in the NFL).

I think it's harder to discuss the draft now until it's known for sure whether Holmgren will make the switch to the 4-3.

Don't shoot the messenger man, from the NFL office it was Seattle, Cleveland, Oakland. I am guessing when dealing with two teams that have played each other it goes to head to head but when the third team is involved and not all parties have played each other it gets different.

I would not be shocked to see Eric Berry still on the board when the Browns draft at #7. You have teams like Seattle and St. Louis that are in need of QB's. There are 2 or 3 high quality OT's in this draft. Plus throw in Suh as well as a couple other dominant DT's and it could be possible that Berry falls to #7. As was mentioned before, safeties are rarely taken before where the Browns will pick this April. Now the question will be if Berry is still there, do the Browns jump on him, or do they use the 7th pick on a "talent scarce" position and wait until round 2 where there will still be quality safeties available?

Adrian Peterson fell to #7. I can definitely see teams passing on Berry for more pressing needs.

I think Mangini stays for two reasons.
a) Holmgren won't bring in a new coach for one year (2011 possible lockout)
b) Holmgren already said he won't coach next year.

short passes are quinns forte also along with inaccuracy. the wco relies heavy on yards after the catch. there wont be much of that when receivers are reaching back for balls, pulling then off their shoes . with quinn at the helm the browns will need receivers that can double as olympic gymnasts to succeed. you have to be highly accurate in that system. thats why montana was so successful, his accuracy was uncanny. to be blunt quinn is so inaccurate he couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat

Of the 2 QB's on the roster, Quinn is by far the better choice to run a wco. DA's accuracy on short passes is why he's not the starter now, 5-15 yard passes and the picks that go with them.

If someone has an axe to grind about Quinn they'll never see the differnces between the two, as an observer without an agenda the fact that Quinn is best suited to the WCO of the two is as plain as the Orange on the helmets.

Can you say Matt Hasslebeck (sp.?)?? I could see it happening. He has only 1 year left on his contract worth 5.2mil or in that neighborhood. Holmgren could bring hin into mentor Quinn. Although the guy cant seem to put together an entire healthy season.

From everything I have heard today, it appears that Mangini will hold his own fate today if he is staying or not. I am sure he will be answering questions on the control of the team, type of offense, QB situation, Kokinis, Robiskie and other personnel decisions.

If Heckert ends up getting signed, I think Mangini is out of here. They'll clash, and it won't be pretty.

Heckert was in Cleveland yesterday, as the Browns were VERY busy.
