I don't think we need a QB with 25 td's 14 int's for 3500 yards in six years with a rating of just over 80. We need a proven vet not a qb whose proven meaty oaker.

That is a LEGIT move if the Ravens can pull it off.

Although, their defense..although still pretty good, is getting pretty old.

I said a while ago that I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got Senaca Wallace! Holmgren did the same thing when he went to Seattle when he got Hasselbeck.

If Cleveland is willing to spend money for Jones, then there isn't a reason not to pick him up. He either has a productive season or he doesn't, its not our money but he has the ability to produce.

Rather go elsewhere than Jones. RB isn't the Browns biggest need. On the offensive side need to bring in a veteran WR, who still can be productive, not the Patten type from last year.

Like I said, I would too but if you can get him without giving up anything other than money why not? Its not our cash were throwing at the guy lol.

If we're looking at Jet's running backs I'd rather have Leon Washington. He would cost the Browns a second rounder, but he may be worth it.

Problem with Leon Washington is that he may not be ready to play in 2010.

I don't want Jones. The Jets have maybe the best running offensive line in the league. My retarded ass could have ran for a grand.

Oh shit, forgot about Washinton's broken leg. did some checking and found it wasn't a clean break and he now has a metal rod in his leg. I retract my previous post.

It's being compared to the Michael Bush injury. Could be 2-3 years before he's effective if he ever is again.

I know he is unproven, but I am ok with giving James Davis a shot.....along with Harrison.

There are a lot of bigger issues that need addressed. If they did nothing but address the defense, I would be happy. I know everyone wants a qb, but I think this draft sucks in terms of nfl qb talent. And there really isn't a qb available via free agent that I care for. Other than getting a stop gap quarterback until something else comes up, I want to see defense, defense, defense.

I'm tellin' ya, they are going to TRADE for a QB. It's Holmgren's M.O.

It would be nice, but I just don't see anyone out there for this year.

(cough,cough) Troy Smith.

Also, one thing I did forget.....right tackle definitely needs addressed.

I'm gonna throw a name out there that I think may be a decent stop-gap for a season or two at QB - Kerry Collins. I know he looked awful in Tennessee last season, but something funny was going on down there. Fisher still believed in him even after the 0-6 start and said QB play was not the problem, but Bud Adams forced the change. I don't really know if he is the right fit, but he would probably come cheap. What do you guys think?

Why is there no vomiting smilie among our choices? BTW...just to piss in your Cheerios, Smith's agent HAS reached out to the Browns and their response? "Not interested."

Perhaps I might eat my words on Troy Smith. The Rats just tendered him with a FIFTH round tender. I'd give up a 5th for him.....a 5th of Mad Dog!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea the Browns aren't going to go for any restricted FA quarterbacks. This draft and all of the picks they have is too important to squander on someone who isn't a sure thing (or a perceived sure thing).

With that said I would give up a 5th rounder for Troy Smith and I will bet that some team will sign him with that as the tender. As for the Browns, God forbid they try to sign a guy that wants to play for them, wants to be a leader, and is better than any of the 3 quarterbacks currently on the roster. (Better arm than Quinn, Better accuracy than Anderson, more mobile than both combined. I don't count Ratliff since he would be a backup in the arena league.) He'll never get a shot in Baltimore since he lost his job to illness, otherwise we may have seen a situation similar to Brees/Rivers in SD. I hope he goes to a team where he has an open chance to be the starter.

Browns won't pursue Smith. Baltimore has first right of refusal.
