Have to wonder if some these test results are inaccurate.

I was swept back in time by this thread. Not that it is particularly pertinent to the over-all thread topic, but I was with some very good friends about 15 years ago in a Windsor Jazz Club that was featuring a group from Detroit that could really play. It was amazing! One of our group asked the barmaid about the beer and she told us that Labatt's was the night's special and it was under 2 dollars a bottle. In Canadian money (at the time) that meant that they had to pay us a penny or two every time we ordered another bottle. What a great way to cross cultural divides and mix with our neighbors to the North. We had so much Canadian money at the end of the evening, we felt like citizens. I think the Club was called the Iguana, but it was one rockin' place that night. it was at basement level so the only thing we saw as we looked out the windows were ankles, calves, and feet. we ended up doing the bunny hop around the bar in a huge serpentine line. We were probably approaching our legal limit. As per the thread question...that girl has no business being alive. It could not possibly have been an accurate reading unless she was frozen. Sorry...old folks sometimes go off on tangents.

I know some people can drink more than others. But .708? And alive?

I'm not surprised at all that this happened in Sturgis. In fact, now that I know where it happened, it makes perfect sense. I'm quite familiar with South Dakota (relatives). Everyone in Sturgis is an alcoholic.

Did she test that through a breathalyzer or a blood test?

This lady was almost 10 times the legal limit. I wonder how much she drank to get to .708.
http://www.intox.com/wheel/drinkwheel.asp

Well, according to the Intoxometer, it would take 24-25 drinks over a period of six hours - call it four drinks an hour. It could be done.

I've heard that professional drunks, after many years of conditioning, can tolerate much higher BACs than us amateurs - but I gotta wonder about the accuracy of the test.

wouldn't conditioning your body as a professional drunk also do other things? like kill a ton of brain cells?

I believe they originally found her passed out behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle. . . and before a hearing for that crime she was found passed out behind the wheel of another stolen vehicle. I would venture a guess that her brain cells are on the endangered species list.

The thought process that allowed her to inhale that much alcohol in that little time would kind of confirm that, eh? :)

Methinks Muggsy has done in quite a few brain cells as well - not that she had all that many to begin with :D

Actually, this guy was alright - he just has lousy taste in women. His first wife ran off with his best friend after ten years. His second wife ran off with HER best friend after five.

You can't make this stuff up...

I didn't think such a level was possible to survive. Must have been an erroneous test, because I've always heard that most people are dead at .4 or .5
