Jesus YTG I'm thoroughly offended by your inference...I'm totally a Gay Rights kinda guy. My wife and her two friends went saturday night while the guys sat at the bar, when we met back up with them they all said it wasn't very good. One of the girls actually fell asleep!!! All of them had read the books and thought they were much better.

I felt the exact opposite. The books are so horribly written that anything had to be an improvement. My friends and I had a great time and really enjoyed the movie. Yeah, I don't get that. It followed the book pretty closely, and actually left out a lot of the dumb dialogue. That's what made it better, IMO. I didn't have to hear about inner goddesses doing the tango (for real) or any of that stupid shit. I went in with super low expectations, so it was better than I thought it would be.
Had I never read the books, I am not sure how I would have felt. All I know is I was not mad about looking at Jamie Dornan for two hours.
