I'm surprised that there isn't uproar about the message in the Carnival Cruise commercial.

Yeah, it was corny. It had a feel of that Chevy commercial with the voice over of Paul Harvey a few yaers ago. That was a great commercial, well, his message was greatHeretic;1702276 wrote:We got ripped off by this ad only being local.

Funniest fucking thing ever! The horrors of heroin as portrayed by a peppy, perky folky song!

Religious whack jobs are up in arms about it.
Who gives a fuck
If a commercial at the super bowl makes you angry, you have some issues

They used a speech that talked about how we (as humans) come from the sea, and how we are one with the ocean. Blah blah blah. It wasn't anything too crazy. But I remember saying to my friend that some religious people might take offense to it.OSH;1702285 wrote:Which was?
The end of the message was "come back to the sea"

That at our very basic core of evolution we came from the sea. So I guess the suggestion that evolution is real pissed them offOSH;1702285 wrote:Which was?

If I was not mistaken, that was John F Kennedy 'narrating' the commercial. Very devout Catholic.lhslep134;1702290 wrote:That at our very basic core of evolution we came from the sea. So I guess the suggestion that evolution is real pissed them off

The founder of Elysian Brewing had an email today in response to the Budweiser ad. This was part of it:

In other words...fuck In-Bev.

The uproar on Come Back to the Sea was over using a recorded speech given by JFK. He's dead, his brothers are dead , his wife is dead and his kid is dead, who's left that could possibly give a fuck?

The irony is if you go Carnival you might very well end-up returning to the sea, and not in the good way.lhslep134;1702290 wrote:That at our very basic core of evolution we came from the sea. So I guess the suggestion that evolution is real pissed them off

Not any worse than the message: "you have different tastes in beer so f*** you"sleeper;1702404 wrote:I actually liked the budweiser ad. Beer snobs are the worst.
The ad definitely made me want a budweiser though

The message itself is ironic. Beer snobs have massive circle jerks about how Budweiser is such crap beer and whatever insignificant quadruple hop IPA is the best beer ever and blah blah. This ad is essentially throwing it back in their faces.lhslep134;1702465 wrote:Not any worse than the message: "you have different tastes in beer so f*** you"

The reality is, Budweiser is appealing to the the vast majority of people who want to get hammered for cheap and I applaud them for doing that.
