Moreover, this is a business as much as anything else. Kids leave early for the NFL all the time...where's the feelz for the fans and the schools that invested all their time to develop these superstars?
This kid is not the same kid that OSU recruited....and they don't have to accept him with damaged knees that they are not responsible for. They have honored their commitment to giving this kid a great education which is the really important part, because 95% of the players are not going to have any kind of significant pro career. Most importantly, there is nothing that stops him from getting a better deal elsewhere.

Yea, at what point do you have to accept a player that isn't the same player you recruited? Being able to play again and being able to play at a high level again are two completely different things. Also, as anyone with any common sense knows, if you're cutting bait for scholarship purposes, you cut from the "proven" guys, not the young guys that could possibly end up stars.

OSU and the kid made a deal for the kid to play football at OSU. The kid was not medically cleared. OSU still offered to give him a free education. If the doctor's do not allow the kid to play, OSU football cannot overrule that. The scholarships are a series of 1 year commitments. The student-athletes chooses not to renew that commitment much more often than the school does.

The doctors didn't clear him for that moment in time. Not forever. Guess they should have yanked Miller's scholly too. And Barret. If that's the premises.

The doctors can only evaluate that moment. It is unfortunate that the kid is injured, but no one knows how/if he will recover. As far as comparing it to Miller and Barret, it apples to oranges. They were injured while playing for OSU. The other kid was a high school recruit who was injured. He was never on the team. OSU still offered to give him a free education.

You didn't answer the first part of my question from earlier. At what point is a team expected to accept a recruit that is not the same player they recruited? The kid suffered two knee injuries since he committed, one of which was right before he came to Columbus. Like I said before, playing again and playing again at a high level are two completely different scenarios.

Torn meniscus is right about a severe sprain in terms of recovering. Spin it how you want. Room needs to be made and he was an easy target.
