Yeah....this shouldn't be a surprise.

We knew Hoke would be fired at season's end. We knew the AD would be "fired" we just didn't know when.

We knew Harbaugh would be offered the job....and we know they want Warde Manuel to be the new AD.

Will they come to terms and will they accept.

Time will tell.

I agree with what there saying on ESPN, this is a lifestyle choice. The same money will be there both on Ann Arbor and in Oakland. I thinks it's a no brainer there going to stay in the Bay Area.

I hope he goes to Michigan. I'd love to lay a beat down on Harbaugh every year rather than some mediocre coach.

And you SHOULD want this. It would likely make Michigan much better.

It kills me when people say "I hope Michigan NEVER gets better and stays this bad." I hope Michigan becomes REAL good, along with the other teams in the conference. Just want OSU to be BETTER. A stronger Big 10 is only going to help them in the voting for the playoffs.

People should want the rivalry to return.

For the good of the league, this would be a good thing.

I don't know, if you're talking lifestyle I'd think UM is a lot better than a pro job. I'm guessing at this point Nick Saban does very little recruiting, himself.

He can take the OAK job and be fired in 3 years when he doesn't turn it around. I suppose he's young enough to be there in the future, and while Ann Arbor might not be sunny California it's a pretty good place to raise a family.

You can't tell me going back to coach your alma mater, a storied school like UM, doesn't offer something significant that OAK can't match.

Ann Arbor is one of the coolest towns in the Great Lakes region honestly. I just believe Harbaugh will come back, the guy is obviously a control freak and college coaches are essentially dictators as opposed to 3rd in command in the NFL. Would be nice to see the greatness of the rivalry restored

I dont know man, from what the experts say even the likes of Saban are flying all around recruiting and schmoozing, at least their top prize recruits.

I'm sure he's brought in to "close". But I have to believe it's not as stressful or hectic as studying and targeting FA's, then going to the combine and pro days and working out your draft board.

Just saying with the success he's had and the Alabama brand that there's no way Saban has to work as hard, personally, at recruiting as most other coaches do.

Well, I guess his current wife is a West Coast gal...that can definitely put the kibosh on enduring Michigan winters.

Harbaugh is a fiercely competitive guy.

His brother has a Super Bowl ring as a coach and he doesn't.

He is not going back to college until he either gets one or gets fired after a second try with a new team.

He's only 50 years old. He can do another 4-5 year stint with another team and settle into a college job to finish off his career kind of like Saban did when he went to Alabama.
