They really don't need a legit WR if they are planning to play "Mangin Ball" this year.
Dive on the grenade and suck ass for another year, while stockpiling big uglies....go get your QB & flashy toys (WR/RB) next year. It's not too difficult.
Hopefully Farmer sees this too and Haslam has the patience to keep him around another year. I see their mindset. It's just not going to equate to a lot of wins this year but over the long haul it will work once they get the QB in place.
First of all, he is an insurance policy IF Mack leaves (don't be like IQQY and say he is all but gone... we know how that turned out for him). With Mack we are looking at the best line in the league. Erving can play right beside him at guard. Your line is only as good as your weakest link, and if schwartz is our weakest link, I will take that all day.
Also, gtfo with this mangini ball bs. Mangini didn't invent the run the ball to set up the pass offense lol. The problem with mangini, he didn't have any personnel. There is a reason JT is the only player left from those teams.

I see very little point in bringing in a QB only to watch him get battered around, no run game, and no WRs to throw to. If we already had the #2 pick, different story. Given the browns status, I love what they're doing. Don't have the QB, so build the lines, be a tough football team.
I know you and sleeper don't believe in controlling the line of scrimmage, but I do. Running the ball and stopping the run (to pair with our pretty damn good secondary), is a recipe for success. Our FO, for fucking once, has a plan and is sticking to it. Farmer doesn't bow down to the media and just take a WR bc Kiper said so. They have their board, they set it, and they fucking stick to it.
+1, good point the on the FO sticking to the plan. I am a firm believer that Manziel was a haslam pick, and everything else has been Farmer/Pettine. I think farmer/pettine nicely told Haslam to step the fuck aside, otherwise he is going to get in the way of the Browns making the right personnel decisions. I remember the last time the Browns made a boring pick and people bitch (JT). That following season turned out pretty well.
