Rookies reporting for camp. TC starts a week from today.

Off topic but here are Bill Barnwell's (Grantland) rankings of 70-100 of the top 100 NFL players. Three Browns in the bottom 30. Number 88 will probably surprise some and ruffle a few "homer" feathers....

Haden would've been top 50 or higher before last year. He's underrated on that list. So are some others too. Seems like he ranked some more on "value" than he did "how good are they." I mean he had DeMarco Murray 100th and he almost won league MVP last season. Yet he has Clay Matthews at 66...who isn't what he was a few years ago.

If you really look at last season, Haden didn't have a good year. He shut down AJ Green but Green was also hobbled. In his defense, he does usually get assigned the #1 but he got outplayed by some good and not so good (Wright)WR's. He's still a top 10, maybe top 5, CB.

Murray being that low isn't that much of a surprise just because of how the shelf life isn't what it used to be for running backs combined with how Dallas rode him like crazy last year. I can understand why people would be skeptical of him coming into this year.

The Browns announced Wednesday that they have signed OL Joe Madsen and have moved CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, TE Randall Telfer and DL Tory Slater to injury lists.

No surprise on Telfer.

That's the point though. Is it top 100 players NOW? Or top 100 players in overall value? Seems he ranked some based on projections of the future, and others based on past performance.

As far as Foot is concerned: Yes and he will revolutionize the sport forever.

Anyone else: Meh.

At TE? Maybe. At QB? "Richard" Pryor has a better chance.

That's a terribly bad joke, considering Pryor has made his positional aspirations clear

It's his top 100 players for 2015. I definitely disagree with some of his bottom 40 guys as far should be higher or not ranked at all. The two guys I think he has ranked way to high and shouldn't even be ranked are Alex Smith and Kaepernick at 77 and 76. I definitely agree that Haden should at least be top 50. Will be interesting to see his top 60 though.

Then again, it's just entertainment. NFL is the toughest sport to predict individual performances from year to year.

I thought the soloman thing was interesting as well. Hoping he's not another Alex Hall.

I thought Starks was a NT, interesting to see him projected to DE. No matter who starts on Def, I think we're going to see a rotation until guys emerge.

Pettine not ruling out Manziel as the opening day starter....

http://bleacherreport.com/tb/dh4tD?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=cleveland-browns

I've been thinking a lot about this and the best thing that could happen is for JFF to start week 1.

I think most people can see, from McCown's history, that he's not going to become a "good" QB overnight. So let's just say he's "Hoyer-like." That might get you 6-8 wins, likely leaving you out of reach for one of the top QB's in the 2016 draft.

By starting JFF, he either sucks ass (most likely scenario) and you're drafting top 3-5 (likely getting your QB) or he balls out and you could be looking at playoffs. If he performs like McCown, you're still getting those 6-8 win anyhow.

Some fans may be cool with the "7-9 is an improvement" or "I'll take 8-8 ALL DAY!" Screw that! The idea is a championship. Find out if JFF is "the guy" and if he's not, he fails miserably and you're sitting in a high position to draft a QB. I'm tired of these guys getting just enough wins to keep them out of reach of a potential franchise QB.

The only "glitch" with this scenario is that I don't necessarily think this coaching staff is a lock to return in 2017 so Pettine would have to have some brass balls to start Manziel and potentially risk his job.

I'm all for starting JFF over McCown. McCown sucks, and is older than weeden's older brother (fuckin' old). He's a bum, always been a bum, etc.... JFF has less than a 5% chance of not being trash, which is 5% higher than McCown. However he has to earn it, on and off the field. He wants to continue to play penis flickers, and can't beat McCown out for the starter, than he can hit the bricks.

yeah fucking bullshit and makes no sense. ARRESTED, by police for smoking weed. ARRESTED, with a banned ILLEGAL drug, suspension reduced. Gordon drinks a beer after the season, out for a year. #NFLCOMMISHLOGIC

Yep and Tom Brady's doesn't get reduced. I wanted the league to reduce Brady's to three games effective in week 2 (Pats play Steelers in week 1).
