Nope. He actually kind of screwed himself a little with that extension and probably should have just rode out arbitration and hit the free agent market at 26 years old.
He will be 29 when his extension is up. Still young, but whoever gives him his next deal will miss out on most of his true prime seasons (25-29).
He will likely get an 8-10 year deal, but to have gotten that $400 million (or at least had a shot at it) he would have had to hit the market at 26 kind of like Stanton is now.
$25 million a year for Stanton through his absolute prime and done by 38 years old will probably not be a bad deal if he stays healthy. Besides, when you look at how much salaries have jumped the past 5-10 years who knows what he would be worth in a similar time frame. They got cost certainty, and I suspect as time goes on he will look like a bargain at $25 million a year. Look at some of the free agent contracts signed last off-season that gave guys $20 million a year and he already looks like a bargain.
