At least that's better than your personal 1955 JV basketball story, but still not a true apples-to-apples comparison. My only surprise when suspensions were laid down was that the Boston dude only got one game.Footwedge;1725366 wrote:Remember the Chief taking out Laimbeer? I don't know what all the criteria the league looks at in determining punishment for plays like JR's, but regardless of how intentional or inadvertent his move was, it was a shot to the face/head area of Crowder and, in today's landscape with all the concussion protocols, it seems like anything deemed flagrant that involves a shot to that area is now treated far more seriously than it was in the past (such as the time of your link).

FW still at it!
Cleveland is lucky JR only got 2. Unintentional? LOL
It's also JR Smith. He's a jackass and the league knows this.

Yep. The Boston player was a first time offender who had plenty of people vouching for his "good nature." All he had to do was play dumb and apologize and he was getting a slap on the wrist. JR is a repeat offender who nobody will vouch for. Do the math...Automatik;1725432 wrote:FW still at it!

I'm of the opinion that in a case like this, the perpetrator should be out the same amount of time out of the game as the injured party. So, in this case, Olynik would be out 4 to 6 months and miss the same number of games as Love. I know the Celtics are out of the playoffs, but this would extend to next season for him.SportsAndLady;1725346 wrote:Olynyk will get what's coming to him. POS.

You're from Pittsburgh. right? Played ball with round ball classic selection Ritchie Porac at Gateway...you know...quad A powerhouse? WPIAL football champs in 70 and 74. Watched Porac and George Karl (Penn Hills) from the bench as a sophomore (yeah THAT George Karl) put on a clinic.Heretic;1725431 wrote:At least that's better than your personal 1955 JV basketball story, but still not a true apples-to-apples comparison. Back to hoop talk....the first 2 games of the next round the Cavs will have to divvy out 70/75 minutes of lost Love/JR time. We will see just how good of a coach David Blatt is. My guess is that SM will enter the fray for about 15 of those minutes. Shump will log JR type minutes and JJ will log Shump minutes. Mosgov will have to stay clean and play close to 35 minutes as will TT.
Get used to seeing Delly play close to 18 minutes.
But it's a lot more than just playing people playing more minutes. The defense, and the type of offense to maximize productivity from these guys will tax Blatt's coaching ability.
LOL at these people that think the Bulls will be favored. They won't be.

Footwedge,
Just for the lulz on a few different levels, can you try to compute and share your JV basketball stats?
