Moving to Westerville in a few weeks and sad that I have to give up my Uverse. Only options are TWC and Direct TV. How horrible is TWC in Columbus?

I've had both (in Cincinnati) and both were equally terrible.

I haven't lived in a snowy/rainy region in forever so I'm worried that Direct TV will cut out all the time.

Time Warner Cable is one of the worst companies in America.
I would go cable-free before I gave them my business again.
I had DirecTV for two years while living in Columbus. It's pricey, but I had zero issues.

Yeah, I had TWC at our condo on the lake this past spring and summer. It was like an act of congress to get anything done for them. Fuck. Them.
Does westerville have any smaller, local companies? I go with our small,hometown cable company. Doesnt maybe have all the bells and whistles, but it is cheaper and much easier to get anything done

I've had Directv for 10+ years. No real complaints other than expensive.

I just got TWC to drop my bill by $55 a month and still retain all the services I had before. Took me about 25 minutes of phone time. Fine by me.

I pay $170 right now for Uverse cable and internet. It's crazy expensive but it works perfectly, albiet after they had to come chang out the outside box. As long as Direct TV has the NBCSports extra that shows all the EPL soccer games I'm good with it. It doesn't look like TWC does.

I don't really know anything about Westerville or the Columbus area. Not sure if Westerville has a hometown cable company.

I lived in Westerville for three years. I had Insight Cable. No idea if it's still around, but it had DVR and HD. That's all I really cared about so it got the job done. My only experience with TWC was when I was living with my parents in Mansfield. My dad hates TWC. He refused to get a DVR so TWC had to ship in a cable box from West Podunk just to satisfy my his request. Eventually he switched to DVR because the bill was astronomical without the bundle.
I'd love to go DirecTV, but I heard it can get expensive. I would compare a cost break down for the second and third years of whatever service you decide to go with. That way you'll really see what you're paying for.

I like DirecTV minus the weather issues. TWC has on demand which is cool but their customer service is ridiculously bad.

Sometimes heavy rains will interrupt it for a few seconds.
HEavy snow can as well and ya may have to wipe snow off the dish. It isnt nearly as bad as what cable companies will claim, but more prevalent than what the dish companies will admit to.

SOMETIMES that can be the result of shitty installation.......mostly that rain part. When it is installed they can check the strength of the signals they are getting. If they just settle for getting into the acceptable range it will be more affected by lighter rain, or as you said, even if it looks like it may rain. If they take the time and get it to the best signal possible it will be less affected by rain and less likely to go out. but yeah..snow can fuck you up and have to wipe it off and depending where they install the dish it could be a bitch to get to.
