Who the fuck said they did? If the Browns play their game, like they did against Pittsburgh, they should dominate. I'm sure Pettine has them well grounded thinking one game at a time.

8 completed passes? We need to do better than that. Not playing old ass steelers def, jags actually have a good dline which could cause problems for the mack-less browns.

Can't take any team lightly in the NFL.

I agree im worried about this game more than the next 2. And shorts is also back for the jags. In the 2 games he's really played this year he's had big games. I wish all the best for my former teammate but I hope Haden shuts him down lol

Pay attention Failwedge. He was talking about Houer's TEAMS not winning anything, which I replied neither has Manziel's.

Try to keep up.

Footwedge;1663592 wrote:If you are referring to me. I'm hardly miserable. And I don't root against Hoyer...because I don't root against the Browns. But whether you think so or not, plenty of ultra die hard Browns fans agree that the wrong guy is leading the team right now. Its a subject that has permeated the airwaves every single week...because it is an interesting topic.

FWIW...I've praised Hoyer's overachievements a number of times here. I would hope that he would understand that he's been blessed in being given this opportunity...and he was given the opportunity.

The other hot topic on the AM dial today was the future here with Shanahan. Gotta figure out a way to keep that guy. Even Weeden would be All Pro with the way Shanahan gets the receivers so wide open.
Just as a reader of these Browns threads and not a fan in any way....you just wear the Manziel topic out. The timing just doesn't make any sense. If you were a Bengals or Cowboys fan who had several postseason trips and QB just not getting to the next level....couldn't disagree a ton, but the Browns are the 4-12 team that finds a way to lose year after year.....next step is the playoffs. IMO you are being too greedy but have at it, but you are posting as if this franchise is good every year and are taking a good time and ignoring it because the wrong guy is at QB.

If Hoyer isn't the guy to get them all the way or even to the cusp of the playoffs it'll show soon enough....but maybe he's got to the place in his career where he gets it and Shanahan is a good blend to go along.

That had to be one of the more satisfying wins in a decade and you are grasping for links to say Hoyer hates Johnny baby.

You should be a little bit excited.

I am sure if the game was closer he would have had more completions. 8 was more than enough obviously. Not sure how their d line is good. They are giving up 117 yards a game on the ground, which is worse than the Steelers. They are also giving up the third most passing yards in the league.

With that being said, I will never go into a game with the Browns saying we should dominate, because we are Cleveland after all. I could easily see the Browns handing the jags their first win of the season. Three wins isn't enough to get me away from that mentality. Maybe one day Cleveland will have some dominant seasons where I can finally feel fully confident going into the game, but the Browns are still are far way from that.

The good news is the guys seemed like they had already moved onto the Jags once they got back to the "office" on Monday.

I would really like to see Crowell get more and more carries each week and eventually take over as the main back. Definitely the most talented back we have. It just seems like he always finds the openings. On another note. How awesome has farmer been with finding these Undrafted guys. Crowell, Williams, Gabriel. All have had big impacts so far

I just don't get the debate at all. This is the fucking NFL. If you ain't good enough, the league is gonna show that over time. Let Hoyer play. He is either good enough or not...and over the course of this year and next, you better believe the NFL defenses will show that. If he fails over time, it's JFF time, if not, you have a nice piece to trade and upgrade the roster.

Again, who is taking them lightly? I'm sure Pettine and the Browns aren't. All I've stated are facts. The Jags are VERY bad. If the Browns play like they should, they should dominate them. They may play like shit and get beat but if they play like they SHOULD they should handle these guys.

1) this is the week we find out if this is the new Browns or old.

2)you don't approach Hoyer with contract talks until after the season. The Browns have no reason to not wait and see what we have in a full body of work and if he's above average you sign him to a 3 or 4 year deal and let Johnny continue to mature on the bench.

The Mighty Cleveland Browns will destroy the Jags. I'll be so happy for them to win another game.

A trap game normally comes when a big game is the next week. If the Browns beat the Jags and Raiders, I could see the Bucs game being a trap game before the Thursday night game with Cincy.

Precisely the definition of a trap game. Could this Jags game be a "letdown?" Sure, but it's not a trap game with the winless Raiders on the horizon.

What is interesting, if you follow power rankings is that the Browns play #32 (Jags), #31 (Raiders) and #30 (Bucs) in the next three weeks. Power rankings don't mean anything in the old "any given Sunday" league but just thought that was interesting. Would be nice to make some "hay" and be 6-2 heading into that Thursday night showdown.

Just an FYI, we were 3-2 at this point LAST SEASON. A collapse can and has happened. Don't get cocky expecting a whoppin' on the Jags.

My brother reminded me of that last night when I asked if he was saving up for playoff tix yet.
Difference is this year if Hoyer gets hurt you have Johnny Football to win the rest of the season.....right footwedge?
