Heading down next weekend to watch Jr bowl for Wright State University. Any good restaurants I can take the sweetie to eat at for Sweetest day? we ate at BD's Mongolian Grill last time down, but looking for locals that might have a suggestion of a good place to go.

Ya homeboy here lives in Beavercreek.

Can't go wrong with anywhere at the Greene. McCormicks is probably one of the fancier places in the area. Expensive steaks/seafood. Same with Brio except Italian. Cheesecake and BDs are more casual but great. The newest place that's probably my favorite there is Pies and Pints. Serves out-of-the ordinary pizza and has about three dozen beers on tap. That would be my recommendation.

The other side of Beavercreek (closer to WSU) has a few places around the Fairfield Mall. Red Robin, Fox and Hound, and Don Pablos are all good.

Downtown Dayton doesn't have much except some breweries. Spaghetti Warehouse would be my recommendation if you go that route.

We walked by Pies and Pints, and thought that might be a great place to try. Might have to check it out!! The stuff around campus is mostly chain stuff, so am looking for some other flavors. Loved The Greene overall. Very cool place to stroll and shop and eat and people watch!

Probably too late, but there used to be a Brazilian steakhouse near the Dayton Mall back when I was living in the area. It was pretty good. Also, Dayton Mall used to be (might still be?) a crappy place, but they've been forced to upgrade the area due to the success of The Greene a few exits up the road.

If you're going downtown Dayton, hit up the Oregon District. I'm a huge fan of the Dub Pub. They have unreal potato soup and fish and chips. If you want a fanicer place, my wife and I like Thai 9 in the Oregon District. It's a nice place. If you want pizza, find a Marion's..You won't be sorry.

The good old Orange and Black Tournament. Been to 9 of them myself. Oldest daughter bowled for Pikeville, and youngest bowled for Wright State. Might head down next weekend for old times sake.

The Greene has a lot of restaurants. Also a Quaker Steak & Lube just off campus on Colonel Glenn.

Not much knowledge on the area but Spaghetti Warehouse in Dayton is a place I really like

I've been to the Pies and Pints in Columbus, and it was really good. I would recommend.

Akron has a Spaghetti Warehouse and it is VERY average. Maybe it a management thing, but apparently the one in Dayton is doing things right.

Speaking of Dayton....is Tims Tavern still open near UD? I haven't been down that way in years. Spent many late evenings in there slipping on the beer soaked dance floor then stumbling my way home back thru "The Ghetto". Damn was that fun!

By chance are you taking I-75 South on your trip?

You'll pass Hickory River BBQ in Tipp City (SR 571) which is like 20 minutes from Fairborn.

It won the Ohio State fair for pulled pork and I've heard its awesome BBQ.

Beavercreek has went downhill in the recent years. When I was in high school that was the coolest place in the world.

Don't you have to be a member? I've only been there once with the in-laws but I think you do. Or you can't pay with credit cards, only their Pine Club card or whatever it is.

You don't need to be a member, just have to pay in cash or check. No reservations either. Apparently Bush Sr went to the pine club and they made him wait. It's definitely the best steak you can get.
