You're not getting paid, Durk. If he's pulling that weak "you ever gonna send me your Paypal info" shit, when you say you already have, he's in full on welch mode.DeyDurkie5;1661630 wrote:Have you made a PayPal account? Heard yesterday that a reason there's belief that their tackling has been so poor is that they aren't allowed to actually live tackle in practice. I think it's kind of a bullshit excuse because these guys are pros. It's gotten so bad that they've given Mingo the nickname "the flailer."

The CBA allows for I think 17 contact practices once the season starts. Add in the fact that the preseason practices are less and short more teams and players dont get up to speed until after a few weeks into the season.BR1986FB;1661758 wrote:Agreed.

Some are saying the best ability a player can have in the NFL is availability. That is the new buzzphrase.
Its been said for a numbers of years now that the reason why actual tackling is bad in the NFL is the lack of contact and tackling in practice and I think there is alot to that.

The thing is, tackling sucks at more levels than the pros. I know, last year, watching Ohio State, the main point of contention on defense among my friends tended to be the shit job of tackling the players did, where arm tackles and slamming into people with a shoulder (without wrapping up) were the main offenders.thavoice;1661760 wrote:The CBA allows for I think 17 contact practices once the season starts. True. Another factor I think is the wide open nature of the game. There are more plays out in space where it is one-on-one with the passing attacks. "back in the day" when teams ran the ball much more often most of the tackles came through the line where the defender could square up the ballcarrier much easier as there wasnt as much space for him to manuver. It is much harder to tackle that guy out in space.Heretic;1661764 wrote:The thing is, tackling sucks at more levels than the pros. I call it the "ESPN Highlight Reel Effect." All of these younger kids see players making these brutal shoulder "tackles" where they aren't wrapping and they want to emulate their favorite players, etc.Heretic;1661764 wrote:The thing is, tackling sucks at more levels than the pros. Farmer has been a PWM GM thus far. Only GM to call Crow after the draft, which is why we landed him. Took Bitpwnio when ppl were QQing for a WR. Cut Burelson to keep Williams amidst the WR shit and kept Gabriel. An awesome (thus far) UDFA moves. Iqqy and buttwedge literally wrong on EVERY account. If iggy were the GM we would have about 11 backup WRs that all suck instead of some of the guys you mentioned.

Looking forward to being in Cleveland this week. Hopefully the weather is nice, stadium is packed and the Browns actually show up and kick some Steelers ass. Im tired of their bandwagon fans. Time to show the NFL the Browns are for real.
So for that, this will be a typical Cleveland game, big stage, knowing what is on the line and we will blow it. It never fails for us Cleveland fans. And I won't believe different until I actually see it.

Think how good the wide outs are going to look once Gordon comes back. This one caller called into the Browns talk show on Monday and stated once Gordon comes back he should sit so he doesn't ruin the chemistry. Made me lolololol Gordon only coming back will make our wide outs that much better. BOOK IT.

Luckily he will be back when the schedule gets tougher towards the end. Comes back against ATL. Does everybody think Cameron will resign this off season? Im pretty sure he is a FA, along with Sheard. Really wish he was starting over Mingo. But what do I know, Im just a fan.BR1986FB;1661780 wrote:Damn I wish that dumbass was playing Sunday.
