Depends on what you want. My wife's CRV drives very smooth and is awd. Not huge though, but gets around 30mpg. The Pilots are nice to and have the 3rd row seating.

Full size? Mid size? Compact? What are you looking for?

Full size: The new Tahoe is nice, however, I wouldn't want to eat that depreciation on the new models, so if you can wait a year or so do it.
Mid Size: I'd go Explorer (might actually be full size?), or Hyundai Santa Fe. The current body style Santa Fe's are really nice and come nicely equipped. Or Lexus RX. Superb quality, Toyota reliability, and of course luxury.
Compact: Ford Escape or CRVs. These two lead this segment.

You gotta try the all new 2015 Subaru Outback. Great ride, great room, great MPG (33) and standard All Wheel Drive.

Compact/small SUV..... Subaru Forester is Motor Trend SUV of the year AND Comaumee Reports top rated in that segment.

Theres only a couple true SUV's anymore. The Tahoe, the Suburban, and the Expedition. The rest are crossovers.

Durango looks like a minivan now and it's a dodge, so that's useless. I'd choose an Expedition of course, but the Tahoe or Suburban would be ok.

I love my Jeep. Didn't slide once last winter climbing up and down all the hills and ridges. Payments are low enough, maintenance won't stretch you thin and you won't go broke filling up your tank.

Motortrend just did a comparison on a bunch of SUVs. You may not put much stock into what they say, but they'll at least lay out the specs for you.
