Not maybe, you're absolutely in the minority. Hence the reason they're doing these specific renovations. Can't get enough people to the ballpark who just want to watch baseball.

Doesn't seem to be a problem in Detroit. If the Indians spent money on the team opposed to social things maybe their attendance wouldn't be half of the Tigers. Cleveland isn't a bad sports town at all, that attendance is beyond unacceptable

which is exactly why its disappointing. They are willing to make money without putting a good team on the field. you put a good team on the field....people will come.

Now I'm an older dude, but what they are doing is spot on for the next generation of tribe fans. There will still be plenty of seats for traditional baseball fans, but this turns every game into a social focal spot for people to meet and gather.

It's not disappointing at all. Would you rather be with 5,000 people or 30,000?

I'd rather be in my seats watching the game surrounded by people who are into the game than hanging out away from the field with people who don't know the score or what inning it is.

I know they wont be able to draw crowds to fill the old Municipal stadium, but to keep shrinking the stadium just to make it look full is weak.

Then don't sit in the social section, sit in different seats. Problem solved.

Stop bitching just to bitch. We get it, you don't like hanging out with younger people at a baseball game. Doesn't mean that your whole experience is going to be ruined.

I haven't read all the details but if they want to make Tribe games a "Social" experience, they need to either add a strong Wifi network or figure out a way for people to get some damn reception in the stadium. I have VZW 4G LTE and it takes forever to upload anything to social media from the park....if you can even get a signal.

Yeah they've definitely improved in that area. Most stadiums have I've been to recently. I even get a signal in the Horseshoe once and awhile.

August. It was a Tuesday night game. It actually was better than normal but I figured it was just because there was only about 9K in the house. I usually go to weekend games and it's usually not great. However, the last weekend series I went to was in June so if it improved end of the year that is good news.

Indians avoid arbitration and come to contract terms with Lonnie Chisenhall, Carlos Carrasco and Marc Rzepczynski.

I have no problem with Josh Tomlin as a fill in starter or long relief man. The problem is when we use him outside those roles, and that's on the manager.

The Tribe has signed the last of its arbitration eligible players, signing Moss(6.5 Million), Tomlin(1.5 million) and Shaw(1.55 million) to 1 year deals.

Earlier in the week Carrasco(2.3 million), Rzepczynski(2.4 million), and Chisenhall(2.25 million)

The combined signings of 18 major players brings the team's payroll to near $80 million.
The remainder of the teams roster will be with players making near or at the major league minimum.
The total payroll projects to about $83-84 million.

Based on 2014 numbers, that would be an extra $1M spent, and move them from 26th to 25th in payroll (assuming no one below them, which is HOU, MIA, TB, PIT, and now OAK, spent enough to jump them)

That was a very verbose way to say "same shit, different year"

Anybody see the Tribe are starting their home weeknight games in April and May at 6:10?

Not sure how I feel about that. I'm sure they are going by market research with fans saying they don't go to those games during the season because it is a school night and the games get over too late. I don't see this having any impact on attendance.

On Yahoo sports, they said part of the reason involved colder weather and wanted to get games over with during that time. As to whether this will have an impact, no clue.

I kind of like it. Get the game on right when I'm done working and it will be over before 10. No complaints.
