Bearcats smell blood in the water. Urbie needs a solid game plan to prevent the biggest embarrassment in OSU history.

Let's hope the Bearcats don't look past Muck Fiami in the meantime.

Meh, Kent State is a nobody in the grand scheme of things, but still, a good win. They gave up 17 to Ohio and 23 to South Alabama, so with OSU's recent offensive troubles, I was hoping for 40-50 points, since KSU is apparently a decent defensive team for a low-level program.

A complete ass-stomping by 66 points, though, is very nice. While you can't tell how much they improved from last week due to the quality of the opponent, it was apparent they were at least executing at a higher level, which is really all you can hope for with a game like that.

....and yet we drop in the polls-lol

I know, I know, the polls don't mean squat, especially if you're in the lower third, but I guess the Va Tech loss weighed more on the minds of the voters than our 66 point win...oh well.

I wouldn't sweat the poll right now. As has been said many time, polls should make their first appearance mid October.

Dropping after struggling with Navy? Acceptable.

Dropping after beating someone 66-0? Complete joke.

It doesn't matter, but still. Clemson jumped them. Clemson didn't even play. So according to the AP voters, not playing is more impressive than beating an opponent 66-0.

According to voters, not playing is more impressive than seeing the team that kicked your ass lose to East Carolina. Not justifying it, just calling what I see.

But the team that Clemson got crushed by got beaten by a team that was crushed the previous week as well.

(Clemson got crushed by Georgia, who lost to South Carolina who got crushed by Texas A&M).

It really doesn't matter. OSU's chances for the playoffs went out the window with the VT loss. All that's left is the Big X title and polls won't affect that.

Do you really think the B1G title is in play? Right now this team is looking solidly at 2 more losses and possibly 3. Has to be a major OL and Def improvement to even sniff a title. Possible? Yes. Probable? No.

Holy cow, I agree.....
Does not matter what OSU is ranked.
Win and carry on kids.
OSU can still get an at large Orange, Fiesta, Cotton, or Peach bowl.

Always remember....Even when an $EC team loses to another $EC team it still counts as a win because - well - $EC.

Agreed. Plus, VT got beat at home by Eastern Carolina.

A 1 loss team can and most likely will get into the 4 team playoff. Probably even 2, maybe 3 of them.
But that loss better be to an extremely good team, preferably on the road, most likely early on, and then have you plow through the rest of your schedule with quite a few impressive wins.
OSU has the 'early on' part of the equation, but the big ten is just pure bad and winning out wont likely sway the voters.
