Well lets get this started. The way I see it Triway is in a no win situation much like Orrville has been in the past. If they kill Orrville on Friday....they should and if some way some how Orrville makes this a game or wins it is the ultimate let down.
Triway is loaded with a great team and Orrville is going to have to find away to make it close and see if the Titans crumble under the pressure. Good Luck Riders.

Triway QB threw for some BIG YARDS last week and from what I heard the completions were not long ones. There seem to be 3 or 4 kids on this team who can catch and do something after the catch. Should be a real test for this Orrville secondary. Acquaintance of mine (who coaches at Triway, not football but a coach). Said this team has no intension of running the ball, short bubble screens and swing out passes ARE their running plays. Of course hearing that means they will probably run the ball against the ville 35 times! LOL! DB's are gonna have to make them catch the ball in front of them and TACKLE!!!! Few BIG HITS could make some receivers' short arm a few and get them rattled? I think they are gonna make some catches what we do after they catch it will matter most?
rrfan?????? It's TRIWAY!!! ANYTHING is possible!

Manage the clock, limit penalties, get a little pressure on their QB, and make tackles in space. Would like to see us run the ball right at them more than what we did Friday against Rogers.
Should be a great atmosphere and Triway will certainly have a large crowd to see how many points they can put on the board against the Riders.

I am very worried we can not get pressure on Triway QB. If we can not they may score 80 on us. Better believe if they can they will. Riders better be ready to bring everything they have. If they can keep it close the first half anything is possible in this game. Have to stay close some how some way....

Carmichael does not throw down field. The Triway offense is screens, and quick timing patterns. If you play off their receivers, they will 5-7 yards you to death. Aggressive secondary play is key.

Triway looked pretty good against West Holmes. Not sure there is anyone on their schedule that can hang with them. Should be an exciting season for those fans.

The only way they don't beat Orrville Friday is if Triway chokes under the pressure. All the pressure is on them this time....we will see what happens.

They have their once in a decade team and we have a very sub-par team. They should beat us, but if they go for 80 and likely so...what comes around goes around. They have beaten us 7 total times in 44 match-ups so they need to enjoy it while they have the opportunity ...because they don't come too often!rrfan;1649830 wrote:I am very worried we can not get pressure on Triway QB. I was surprised by the way Triway handled West Holmes. I thought WH size would cause some trouble for Triway and it didn't stop them one bit. I don't see Triway losing a game in the regular season.

Tough to get pressure on a QB when he's throwing quick routes. I'd rather drop a few extra guys & make our d-line focus on getting their hands up & batting down passes.
Tacking in space is key. We didn't do that so well Friday. And we some real green DB's. Don't think Carmichael won't look to exploit those mismatches.
Should be a good crowd....

That is what it has come to....It should be a good crowd.
Sanitizer-I almost get sick just typing it...but the horses don't seem to be there. I will love to eat these words Friday night but I will need to see a big improvement to think this game is anything but a "tack your medicine" kind of game...

Dropping d line man into the flats, and press coverage is critical. Because of Triway's pace, they are difficult to create a pass rush on. You need to take away the flats, and create confusion. Carmichael is known to throw picks.

I understand, I have had the ability to watch the last few years from a distance.... What I mean is you and some of the guys I know have been living through these hard times first hand by being at almost every game! Probably been difficult to witness, but I have got to be me! TRIWAY!!! This does look to be about the best team they have had in YEARS by any and all accounts. All the more reason for the Riders to play with no pressure and pin their ears back! If we have a chance this secondary is going have to be physical and TACKLE!!!! Going to have to lay some wood on these receivers when they do catch the ball (and they will). I don't dislike what RedRider1 said, but we have to hit and make tackles.Sanitizer-I almost get sick just typing it...but the horses don't seem to be there. It takes a pretty good Triway team to beat us....several of their 7 wins vs. us were when they had very good teams.
2 wins in the 70's (1971 & 75. The 75 team was quoted in Keith Snoddy's Wayne Co. HOF bio as Triway's "best ever.")
0 in the 80's
2 in the 90's (1993 & 97. The 93 team went to the regional finals)
2 in the 00's (2001 & 2009. The 09 Titan team was a playoff team)
1 so far in the 2010's (2012)
So 3 of Triway's 7 wins came against their "once a decade" squad. This Titan team looks to be just as good as they were last year (2nd round of the playoffs) and probably better.
And I still say Triway v. Orrville is a bigger deal to the Titans than it is to us. Just like Orrville/Wooster is a bigger deal to us than the Generals.

Should be a good game. Preparing for Orrville is very different than preparing for West Holmes, both offensively and defensively. West Holmes was much bigger, but Orrville will be more athletic. WH couldn't cover our receivers if their lives depended on it. Orrville will be a different story. Can Triway's receivers create space? Orrville will throw the ball a lot more than West Holmes (obviously), so our secondary will be tested. We had 1 kid on an island last week in man-to-man, and he dominated his match-up. That allows the rest of the defense to play other assignments. Very contrasting styles from week 1 to week 2, and then in week 3 we have the well-rounded, "best of both worlds" Waynedale team. I think we have one of the toughest non-league schedules in the area (behind Wooster). Gotta win this week. I don't care by how much.

I see this game as a likely Triway blowout. Trying to get pressure on the QB is nearly impossible because he simply doesn't hold the ball. It is snap, look, throw. He has 5-6 options on every play and worse case tucks the ball and is an effective runner.
IF Carmichael stays healthy, no one beats them until deep in the playoffs. If he gets hurt, this is a .500 team. He is that good.

That was the story last year. Riders were able to hit Carmichael early and often and it turned the entire game. I just am not sure we can do that this year (Yes Rider Football Players I am calling you out). Man up and get pressure.

Drop 10-11 players on D. Clear Fork did it to Ashland some years ago and was very effective. Just a thought...

I would love to see Orrville beat his team and bruise them up for week 3. The challenge with dropping more people back in coverage is the QB improved dramatically as last year went on. This year, the RB is the fastest kid on the team. Don't respect the run and you give up 5-8 yards a carry before anyone catches him. From what I saw late in the season last year and scrimmages & WH game, this may be the best offensive team the area has produced in years. The D is suspect so many if their games could be high scoring?
