Triway may be on the wrong end of the history in this series. They are going to be the better team for the future as long as Tony Lee is there. He has turned this program into a consistent winner with good numbers of kids in the program. Orrville is headed in the opposite direction for now.

Put the triway kids on a team with Davault and that team would be very good also. Kids help make the coach...and we have no horses.
Hurt not having a few players out there Friday for Orrville...would have made no difference in the outcome just wanted to state that it seems silly that a none school event leads to some suspensions of players...IDK

One must also consider, (whatever it was), the "none school event" that caused the suspension.
Ironic how these things happen during the beginning of football season. That's rather unfortunate for Coach Davault and his staff.

Just be thankful you have a coach with integrity to suspend players unlike a certain big red school south of you.

Are you kidding me??????? In the last 3 games this idiot has taken Orrville's worst loss to Wooster and Triway and you say this? You sir are a moron!!!! You people and your excuses are the exact reason I don't come on here much or go to the games anymore. Really you have got to be kidding me? 29 kids on a team and I'm sure you and your stupid buddies will say well Smuckers isn't hiring Orrville people! Well guess what Shreve isn't exactly booming with any groundbreaking businesses but they are figuring it out!! Doug Davault is the worst excuse for a head football coach I have ever seen! It's beyond embarrassing!!!rrfan;1651922 wrote:Put the triway kids on a team with Davault and that team would be very good also. Kids help make the coach...and we have no horses.

Here comes the name calling....Have you watched a game this year? Look at what you have on the field? If you have not seen it check it out before you come on here and make yourself look stupid. Yep. Kids making stupid decisions via social media got them suspended. How is that ironic. Are you trying to pin this on the coach somehow?? Wait...how silly of me...of course you are.Series62;1651939 wrote:One must also consider, (whatever it was), the "none school event" that caused the suspension.

Kudos to the school administration for not looking past it due to their status as a "football player." Accountability right? Good for Coach Davault & the admin. for teaching these kids that they're responsible for their actions.

As an outsider I believe the Red Riders have made their situation over the years of being the big bully during the years of having very good talent and now seem to be going thru a typical small school cycle. Now as they look to try and find a conference of schools their size those schools are not interested in helping them. Also, regardless of Devault being a good or bad coach lets not forget the football talent that went played during his better years. There are many who would be good coaches with that talent at a small school. Max Pirman, Kyle Simmons, Sam Miller, Chase Hoobler, Cortex McCreary, Kameron Barnes, Drew Brenner and Mason Monheim to name a few. All very good football players for a small school.

Nation...As you know I am fairly close to the program thru my older brother and I can tell you that the talent we have on the field is the thinnest it has been since he has coached.
Everyone has the right to their opinion on a coaches abilities/inabilities, but I am one that thinks Doug has done a good job. Yes, some may say that any coach would have looked good with the talent he has had here over his tenure and that he may have underachieved with those teams, but...Mac and Mo both underachieved MORE THAN ONCE with talented teams.
And what is underachieving in Orrville??? Not making the playoffs?? Not winning a state title?? It takes a VERY SPECIAL group of kids to win the ultimate prize and Orrville has only done it ONCE....ONCE? Think of all those great teams in the late 70's, thru the 80's and mid 90's?? And we have ONE title!
You mention Triway....this is the best team in the HISTORY of their program and their playoff run will prove this! And look at Norwayne...that was and will always be the BEST team in their schools HISTORY. That is no knock on either of those teams...they were the better team and they proved it on the field!
As the Old Fan said....we are just FINALLY experiencing what so many small schools around the state have dealt with over the years. There are peaks and valleys when it comes to class sizes and talent. We were blessed for many years, but I can honestly say that I don't think Orrville will ever experience the run of success/dominance that we saw in the 80's and 90's EVER AGAIN! We will have our day in the sun again soon, but the sun will set a little quicker than it has in years past!
This town has changed and with it so has our schools and our athletic programs...this is Orrville!

Yes I have watched one and it was one too many! Same nonsense different year under Davault! Hands on the hips, jerseys untucked, penalties, no discipline and 4 plays out of a playbook! What else do I need to see? Let me guess come to a practice right? No thanks!!rrfan;1652264 wrote:Here comes the name calling....Have you watched a game this year? Look at what you have on the field? We can cry and cry and cry about talent all we want but quite honestly Orrville is the worst team in Wayne County! They wouldn't win a game in any league. Kids have quit and now some getting into trouble again? Kick them off the damn team if they cant stay out of trouble! Want to set a precedent? DONE! Off the team!
I don't care how good Triway is or Wooster may have been last year Orrville football is getting embarrassed by rivals! It's unacceptable!

You nailed it...its a lack of talent! I hate saying that about any Orrville team, but it is the reason why we are losing to Wooster, Triway, and all the other teams on our schedule.Red Rider Nation;1652439 wrote:We can cry and cry and cry about talent all we want but quite honestly Orrville is the worst team in Wayne County! That being said....I think the next two weeks are winnable games IMO. And their are two other teams in the OCC that are down and may also be winnable.
Lets go Riders!
