Had the criminal been at work instead of out committing robbery and assault, he would be alive today.
True or false its not uncommon for 18 year olds to not work full time or at all?

The only thing worth watching about Jon Stewart is how punchable his smug (I'm better than you because I went to William & Mary) face. The guy has out Maher'd Bill Maher, and that takes talent.

It isn't my fault, I didn't got to William and Mary. Sorry if I'm not that intelligent (smug smile).

Jon Stewart is a jerk.

You have a weird obsession with what college people went to. I see you bring it up an abnormal amount.

Stewart is funny, (I dig his snark) but his agenda is usually pretty obvious.

How about, no one cares about black people dying unless it's a white guy who killed them. The only time we hear about someone black dying is when they're killed by someone who isn't black.

The thing about Stewart, is he completely ignores the fact that MB attacked the officer.

Sadly, other than the family members of the deceased, RDI is correct.

You can pretty much close the thread after this sentence.

Didn't know where else to post, but Sleeper will appreciate:

Walking into the store today, a black couple is behind me. She says to him "you're such a black man....don't wanna do nothin' unless someone makes you".

It was. She spoke the truth. And it's a joke to them. If a white person said that here or anywhere else, they'd be a racist. But it's typical of her world, so again an unforunate stereotype that's clearly grounded in reality.

Maybe she was saying it in a joking/sarcastic context? Either way, I'm not sure extrapolating a conversation you creeped on at the grocery store as representative of a larger cultural issue is particularly valid.

How would that be a joke? Why would two black people joke about a white stereotype (especially since she giving him the verbal wrist-slap) between each other with no one else around?

If it's so racist and so oppresive, then how is it funny? You don't see white dudes in publc telling their girlfriends "you'd suck every **** in town if your mouth was big enough".

As for being "representative"....scary part is that it's a wealthy area and an upscale store. What struck me about it was the obvious difference in expectations/standards. Pretty much any woman could say that about her man....but it wasn't "typical man" she said, but "typical black man"....like I said, horribly racist comment coming from a white person, but this was a black girlfriend to her black beau.

Yea I'm sure you heard a black couple have that discussion.

In other words you're a racist.

Absolutely I did. It was so shocking I had to post here for discussion.

Actually my reaction was to be sad that she had such low standards and expectations...but that's the soft bigotry of the left.

Because pretending to espouse absurd things when those involved in the joke all understand they're absurd is a pretty typical form of humor? Your intelligent blonde girlfriend makes a mistake and you say "god, typical dumb blonde" and it's funny because you both know stereotyping an entire group of people on something like hair color is absurd.

It's the entire basis for the Colbert Show(in before we have to hear about what college Colbert went to) and others like it.

How are you so sure that the conversation you creeped on was true? Or is it what you want it to be?
