In his rehab starts....Micheal Bourn failed to get a hit at AA Akron...(0-10 with 5 K's)...and will move to Columbus for a few games before joining(hopefully) the big league club at the end of the week.

Tigers getting smoked tonight. Tribe will be within 5. Didn't watch but from what I am reading Verlander topped out at 90 tonight and was mostly high 80's. Uh oh.

Not that I'm a big Veralander fan, but the Tigers have been riding the big horse pretty hard for a few years. Another guy who I think a flame out about to happen is the ChiSox's Chris Sale.

I called the Verlander "demise" 3-4 years ago. Demise is a stretch as he is still realy good, but anyone could see last year and this year if you were paying attention. Leyland really fucked JV over by wasting pitches and innings when they were winning by 6 runs, etc. Such a shame for him.

As for tonight, he left with shoulder soreness. JV, Sanchez hurting and a bad pen is not a good omen.

Even if the Tigers can sign Scherzer, I wouldn't be surprised if he has the same issues as JV soon based on how much he was used in recent years.

Really isn't all that good anymore. ERA's up to near-5 this year. Sort of like how Sabathia pitched a lot of innings, then lost his fastball and pretty much is a shell of himself.

Ain't gonna' happen, but I get your point.
