I don't know and won't disagree with the comment I'm a sick freak.
Belly mentioned going commando. We know he wears an eye patch. For some sick/odd/whatever reason my mind combined the two thoughts into a disturbing image.
If I was to blame it on anything I'll point towards all those drops in the 90's.
