Arroyo depends on hitters trying to clobber the ball to beat them. On the first four batters in the 2nd for the Reds, two players(2nd and 3rd in the inning), did not try to clobber it and got solid shots right back up the middle for hits. The other two(1st and 4th) tried to clobber it and the first got an accidental hit the opposite way he was trying to clobber it, and the other got the big hit of the inning when he actually did clobber it!
