I'm only going to be at work for a few hours. Then I am playing 18 holes of golf. Tomorrow I'm helping my son lay wood floors.

Had a huge weekend last weekend, so will be pretty much staying close to home. Yard work, dinner down at The Docks Saturday evening, relaxing....fwiw, hit my first hole-in-one Wednesday, so still on a high from that

Not really since at one time Akron was considered the "rubber capital of the world." Not sure if that's still the case though.Raw Dawgin' it;1620865 wrote:Had to google this...worst name ever.

It is pretty lame, but as BR said, it makes sense for Akron. And minor league teams are known to have silly/stupid names. The one thing that bothers me is that I guess it's actually RubberDucks. I don't know why it's one word and not two.Raw Dawgin' it;1620865 wrote:Had to google this...worst name ever.

All about marketing. A lot of these minor league teams have silly/stupid/wild/catchy names to try to sell merchandise. Some of them are pretty cool but I agree that Rubber Ducks is pretty lame. Guess they thought it was more marketable than Aeros.Fab4Runner;1620870 wrote:It is pretty lame, but as BR said, it makes sense for Akron. And minor league teams are known to have silly/stupid names. Maybe if you weren't so lazy we wouldn't be the website equivalent of the Akron RubberDucks.justincredible;1620872 wrote:My plan is to relax all weekend since I spent all of last weekend doing house projects.
That's probably the meanest thing I've ever said.

My wife used to work at the Navy Bistro, and helped open up Gumbos back in the day. She says it's sad what has happened to the place, at least a few years ago. Has it revived?
