Everybody must have had a busy Memorial day.....
Tribe drops the opener of this series 6-2, and once again errors figure into it. This time it is Chisenhall booting a tough hop, but makeable play that led to a 3 run homer.....not that it would have mattered as the Tribe could only muster 2 runs.
Today it gets tougher as Masterson takes on Chris Sale (4-0, 1.89). The Tribe has had good luck agaiinst Sale....Need to get this one.

Not a terrible split vs the O's. Would have been nice to get the 3rd...especially considering the Tigers dropped 3 of 4 to Texas. But always nice to split a series and move up in the standings.

Sale has no hit type stuff tonight and the Tribe have the look of a team who might not get a hit.

pray for rain.....
Tribe with a flurry of roster moves...... Santana to 7 day "concussion" DL.....Swisher to 15 day DL (knees)....Tribe recalls Aguilar(1B) and Kottaras(C)...and has to DFA Blake Wood (dropped from the 40 man roster to make room for Kottaras.) Kipnis to be activated tomorrow.

Going to be a late one tonight.
Beckham just homered to put the Sox up 2-0 in the 5th.

Indians killed any chance of a rally in the 7th in a matter of 2 batters.

Former Indians making comebacks......WTF?
Julio Franco has joined the Fort worth Cats of the Independent league he is 55 and last played in the majors in 2007. Terry Francona commented, " I can barely get out of bed in the morning and make it to the shower, and he's going to start swinging the bat again...that's amazing to me."
Franco was a teammate of Mike Hargrove, Terry Francona, and Pete Rose.
Manny Ramirez ...age 41 is back in AAA ball in the Cubs organization as a player coach and mentor to the Cubs young hitters.. I guess he didn't make enough money in the Bigs?

1 step forward, 2 steps back.
It's frustrating that this team can't seem to put together any type of sustained momentum.
That Tigers series seems like it should have been a turning point, but we're back to being 5 games under .500 and have lost 3 straight.
Next 3 weeks may determine the season it looks like as it is a tough stretch.
We have 3 against a good Colorado team, 4 against Texas, 4 against the Angels, 7 against Boston (who seems like they may be getting their shit together after the streak), and 3 against Detroit (with a pair against KC in there).
There are no real easy one in there, and that should take us to about the half way point.
If the plan is to wait until August and play .650 baseball the rest of the way I don't like our chances. It is time to make a move.

The old man has the Tribe on top 1-0 early on a solo shot.
Side note: Giambi has 2 HR in 20 ABs, Cano has 2 HR in 200 ABs.

That is a routine pick for a 1st baseman. We have to make those plays.

And there is the unearned walk off. Beating a dead horse but you can't play defense like this at this level and survive.

That was a huge kick in the nuts.
Gomes gets the big hit and we piss it away.
One step forward, 2 steps back. Story of the season.
