The Tribe heads north of the border for a 3 game set with the Blue Jays. The clubs come in with matching 18-20 records. The Indians have won 3 straight series and are winners of 7 of their last 10. The Jays come off losing 3 of 4 at home to the Angels and are 3-3 on their current 9 game homestand. The Indians will look to avenge an early series at home vs the Jay where Toronto came to Cleveland and took 2 of 3.

Matchups

Tuesday Masterson (2-1 3.86) v Dickey (3-3 4.72)
Wednesday Kluber (3-3 3.48) v McGowan (2-1 4.63)
Thursday Salazar (1-3 5.65) v Happ (1-1 4.63)

Notes:

-For tonight, Masterson has a solid track record vs the Jays. In 7 career starts, he is 3-1 with an ERA of 2.83 and a WHIP of 1.175. Dickey is 2-2 lifetime vs the Tribe with an ERA of 3.13 and a WHIP of 1.326.
-It feels like the Jays have had the Tribe's number of late but that isn't the case. Over the last 3 years, Toronto holds an 8-7 advantage over the Tribe.
-Jays late inning man Sergio Santos landed himself on the DL yesterday which hurts the depth getting to closer Casey Janssen. Janssen himself has been on the DL to start the season and will be making his season debut if he appears this series. Last year, he closed 34 of 36 chances and posted a 4-1 record with a sub 3 ERA. Santos had been handling the closing duties. It will be interesting to see what kind of form he is in if he gets a chance with the game tied or the Jays leading. The Jays hope the return of Janssen can help their terrible bullpen. One of the worst in the league, the Jays bullpen has a combined ERA of 4.97, giving up nearly 1.5 base runners per inning and have yielded 15 homers and 67 walks in 130 and a third innings.
-With 2 of 3 in Tampa, the Tribe improved their pathetic road record to 6-12. The Jays are 8-10 at home this year and slightly under .500 at home (89-91) going back the past 3 seasons.

Go Tribe.

Game time. I am out of town on business so I'll be at the bar getting wasted on expensed drinks and watching the game. I'll try not to be too annoying.

Haha, if you're gonna be out of town, might as well take advantage of it. Pitchers duel so far.

Its amazing to me how quickly Justin Masterson has lost it this year. He will be dominant for an entire time through the order, then just awful after that. Tonight he is perfect through 3, and has looked terrible the last 2 innings. Same thing happened last game when he was pulled after less than 100 pitches. Just weird.

He's got to be bummed they couldn't come to terms with his contract. If things don't turn around for him it could be costly.

Masty meltdown. 5-1 Jays. His worst career start vs Toronto that I know of.

Tribe load the bases with no outs in the 7th. Dickey plunks in a run. 5-2 Jays. Tribe have bases loaded with nobody out and here comes the Jays pen.

Tribe will make the last couple interesting. Brantley hit a fucking seed up the middle but the Jays had him shifted just right. Vs a normal defense, it would have tied it. Tribe get 3 and make it a game. 5-4.

Matt Garza got 4/$52 last off-season coming off a 10-6 season with a career .500 record.

Masterson can be a bum the rest of the way and someone will give him 4/$48 at a minimum if he's breathing.

That was probably the Tribe's top line number, and it is probably Masty's floor in free agency. That's why pitcher's are just fine with hitting the market rather than signing extensions for the most part because teams pay just stupid money for average talent if you can even somewhat throw the ball.

He was clearly out.

Tribe a loser tonight. 5-4. Santana thrown at the dish to end the 8th. Plenty of shoulda, woulda, coulda's to go around tonight.

Get one of the next 2. I will sign up for .500 road trips all year. Anything above that is gravy.

It wasn't about the out, it was about the new blocking the plate without the ball rule. Regardless, close play in the 9th challenge it.

Edit: I'm not a retard I could tell he was out.

I forgot about that. I need to see the replay again now. Have they awarded home on that at all this year in that situation?
